Flowering with CFLs?

Can i flower 4 plants with 7 23w CFL (2700k 1655 lumens) bulbs? That's like 40w & 2896 lumens per plant. Is this possible? If this won't produce decent High grade bud so like mid-high bud then if i use 3 plants with the 7 bulbs will it work? math:sleep: :arrow: 53w & per plant 3861 lumens per plant.

Or if none of this would work.. should i buy a $80 dollar led flower light? I dont have the money. lol :-P
 
That amount of light will grow you a bit of decent bud. This is my generic copy paste CFL blurb. Hope it helps.


I was pulling an oz a week with 388w of CFL here - First CFL Grow - Help appreciated

I would recommend a 3:1 of 6500K:2700K for veg and the opposite for flower.

Keep them small! CFLs don't do nearly as well with large plants unless you keep a clean scrog or LST. I started flowering at this size -

Dropping bulb between plants maximizes plant absorption without the loss of restrike like you would have with a reflector. I tried to cover the canopy in smaller bulbs and submerge larger bulbs between plants.

I would yield ~ 1oz per plant. With 6 in full flower at a time and two others just rotating into the flower box I was able to harvest a plant per week.

This took place in a 2x3x3.5' area of a small closet.

Id get a couple more cfls for 4 plants , but if you keep them fairly small it'll work

I'm currently flowering 4 plants user cfls. (11 bulbs)

Thanks. You all helped a lot. I'm going to try and buy more plug to socket plugs. EVERY best buy is sold out of em... Is everyone growing?Lol. Anyways, about 6more 18w lights cuz that all i have

WOW! They look beauiful. Great work man. wow. Another question though, how did u keep the temperature in your box down? My box right now is 89 degrees whenever i shut the door. I don't know if adding another fan inside the box would do anything but i'll try that... Oh, and i added 4 more CFLs for now. There only 1.5 weeks into veg. The pics are from 4 days ao. Way more light now, and unfortunatly, heat. Also, in your first picture u had a black box in the backround. Is that a balast!?

do you have an exhaust? do you HAVE to shut the door? my closet gets to about 83 on a warm day so i leave the door cracked for the ladies
 
Yeah the problem was the holes on top where duct taped shut with tiny holes poked in the duct tape. It was a highdea of mine. :wall::oops: Now the temperature is a steady 78-82 So it's all good for now. Only problem is shit soil on 2/7 of my plants... :/
 
if they are not sexually mature they will just veg away. if they have pre-flowers, wait. Mother's Day is the date i used for the days being long enough to guarantee they won't flower. they probably wouldn't now, but some are funny.
 
Yeah shit man. Hahah. Im going to put half of em outside and buy 4 super duper 42w compact flourecents. The tube ones lol.
