whats up RIU,
iv got a question on flowering mother plants. if you vegg a plant for months on end, after a certain amount of time will yeild be dramatically reduced if eventually flowered? i flowered a mother plants a couple months back, it didnt do good at all, yeilded about half the weight that all of its clones yeild(that were 1/4th the size at begginging flowering)
i mean in theory you would think bigger older plant, more yeild.... so this left me puzzled.

but now im thinking of flowering my current mother plants because there big,i need more space in vegg room, and wanna start multiple strains of mothers. will their yeild probly be small also, or was the other mother plants dissapointing yeild probly on my part?

any thoughts at all?:leaf:

i grow my mother plants for about 6 mths, till atleast 4 ft, then i retire her to flower, i had two they flowered filled out good, buds were smaller but they were stronger (i thought)
i think its the stress from taking clones, they were white widows, ive had spider mites on one mother, i tried a few chemicals when that didint work i threw them out, in two days the spider mites had eaten almost every leaf, when outside it killed them, i just left the plant out, it was bad, i thought it w/die, it didnt it came back with really sticky buds, i dont adise getting mites, but these plants are really resilient, they are really interesting to grow just for t he experience, not accounting for the spiritual high being able to comune with a living being

You might of gotten a smaller yield because the bushes were to big and not giving light to the Lower branches? With smaller plants the light might penetrate the foliage more than a big bushy bitch...just my opinion..

that funny you say that, IMO the smaller mother plant buds were more potent then the clones. and that crossed my mind also, about the stress of taking cuttings, maybe it has something to do with the plant being so mature when starting flowering? i have never gotten spider mites, they sound a bit scary lol but yes mary jane seems to be one of the most resiliant plants i have ever grown, and very "smart" IMO almost like they constantly evolve (or much faster then other plants any ways) it is a very awesome experience to feel the spiritual high and bond of creating and sustaining life. nothing like it in the world. thanks for chiming in =]

yea this crossed my mind while growing the mother, she was LSTed from the get go, and recieved more direct light then any of the other plants during flowering so i dont think this had alot to do with the small yeild on this particual plant
