Yea it's weird I'm near SF also and I'm seeing a lot of budding already also and I'm also hearing a lot of people around my area having early budding also... Tripping me out... I started my plants on 16/8 lights so I don't think it's the light.. I think it has to do with temperatures

I should have mentioned I started from seed. And mine are in the ground. I have 12, only 3 clones. I'm just going to let it bud. Never a bad thing to have supply before everyone else.

That's an interesting situation. I have never had this problem in the northeast. I started all my bagseed under t5s late wintee, as well as 4 kaya gold and the 5 lemon og haze autos later that are finishing up, but I still have many ladies that pretty much have all pre flowered and with my luck I have almost all females except one or two. The bagseed went outside the second my seeds came in and germinated, they were on their own. So far I only lost one seed to not germinating.

I've noticed the same thing. All of mine have started to stretch and preflower. About a week ago. Yard smells grrsat after a rain. Its way too early for it though.

Any of you figure it out yet it's because with clones on a light cycle of 16/8 or higher getting put straight to out side it's going to want to bud as the amount of light change is drastic if you plant to put your clones out side have them on a 14/10 schedule for 2 weeks before you put them out your problems are that your going from 8 hours of dark to 10 that's to quick of a change

I was going to create a new topic to get more current answers but I decided to bump this thread and see if anybody can help. My 3rd season growing outdoors in Northern California and never had this happen before. I usually get my clones around my birthday, may 15th and start them indoors under 18/6 lighting. Around the beginning of June I will begin to harden them off in the sun and then eventually leave them outside. I started a littler earlier this year indoors before going out but just placed them outside around may25th. They are both now showing lre flowers which has me concerned. They aren't very big yet and don't want them to fully go into flower mode. Even noticed the 3 pronged leaves coming. Ive done this same system the last 2 years and nothing pre flowered like this. Again im in Northern California and my backyard gets about 12 hours of direct sunlight at a min. My question is will I be ok? Will the revert back to veg and continue to grow before filling flowering and growing bud sites? I will upload pics when I get home. Any advice is greatly appreciated as I almost went and got new clones to start over lol. Thank you in advance.

I have a feeling this was my issue but again I used 18/6 the last two years and I didn't have any pre flowers. Its also been very hot the last week or so here. So idk if the temps rising during the day has caused any of this. Thank you for any help.

Its not pre flowers he is talking about. I myself am having the same problem. All of my plants that are outside started to flower then stop and are sitting dormant. Seeds I started outside and seeds I started inside and grew to 8 to 12" then moved outside memorial weekend. I live in southern Ca. I have two friends this has also happened to. I have no idea why this is happening. I have read on line other people are having the same problems. Any information would be helpful. What climates are you growing in?
I’m in SC Texas, growing outside and have the same issue. I’ve posted on 3-4 forums (I lost count) because no one knew what it was when I started posting. Mine were 8-12”, too When they started to flower. I pruned/FIMMed (so, only the top growth) about five and they are doing well. Others are stunted at about a foot & the leaves are all shiny, re-veg style with flowers growing all up the stems.

I just explained in detail what I was told to do since they’re outside & can’t bring them in (24 plants/15 gal pots. about 300 ft down a winding, tight path—can’t lug them in each night :p. It’s on a thread in this section called: “Is it Really budding already”. It’s a little long & explains from another forum what they said to do to get them to flower before the equinox...a lot of work, but said it was only way to save plants.

Hope they’re right. It’s a LOT of work!
