Flowered 8 weeks- How are they looking ?

So this is my second grow now. My first was White Rhino and went not to badly, learned a lot from it though....

So, on to this time rounnd.....

I have 2 x Kalashnikova which are the short stubby ones. These have flowered for 8 weeks yesterday (Sunday) But still look like they have some way to go. I see no ginger hairs forming yet.... ?

I also have 2 x Delahaze which are 1 week behind at 7 weeks sunday just gone. They also don't appear to show any signs of being ready....

All 4 plants were vegged for only 4 weeks under a 300w Blue cfl before being put on to flower under a 600W HPS. I have a RUK 4" extraction fan and a Rhino filter. I also have 2 x 6" clip on fans to circulate air :-)

Temps are monitored and are 27c during light hours and about 17 with lights off. Humidity is about 42% most of the time, but jumps to around 55% after they have been watered.... They are fed using Dutch Pro A+B and also the Explode that goes with it.

Basically just wanting a bit of advice as to how they are looking ? I think they look pretty good ? Some of the leaves are yellowing slightly but appear healthy as a whole. I have pulled some of the leaves to allow more light to get through, but am not sure how far to go, especially with the Kalashnikova as the damn plant is so dense and bushy, but pull back the foliage and they appear to have some nice buds running down the branches under all those leaves....

Also in the pics, you can see to smaller ones in the veg tent. These are pineapple Express and a purple haze :-)

The 2 tiny ones ? Just emerged last night and I am going to put into soild tonight ! They are 2 more Kalashnikova. I am going to leave these to veg a little longer than the 4 weeks of the first ones to see how much difference I notice from extra weeks vegging.... Will it be worth it ? With any hazes I guess I need to veg for a shorter amount of time as I am limited in height, Delahaze is already pushing the limits with my light hanging.....

Advice ? Thoughts ? much appreciated :-)IMAG0168.jpgIMAG0176.jpgIMAG0175.jpgIMAG0174.jpgIMAG0173.jpgIMAG0172.jpgIMAG0171.jpgIMAG0170.jpgIMAG0169.jpgIMAG0177.jpg

looks good...stop thinking "flowering" starts the second you flip to 12/12 ;) There is a transition period of around 2 weeks where it switches from veg to flower...so subtract 2 weeks from that 8 and thats where you really are at :D

So you have another 2-3 weeks to goish...take a sample...quickydry...smoke...see how its doin for ya :D

Thanks for the words of encouragement :P

nice to know they appear to be doing fine, will keep the flowering times in mind for next time. I knew there was a transition period, but just never factored it into it :-)

Any advice for the bushy Kalashnikova's ? Pull leaves ? Or just let mother nature take it's course ?

You can tuck some leaves down to help give some light penetration...since they are so much lower than the rest of your grow you might want to stick something underneath it to bring it up closer to the light :)

He could cut a few of them off...you never want to cut it bald or you'll shock the shit out of her...With a good light and good reflection on the walls, you don't need to cut fan leaves all that much, if at all...BUT with that being said its not all cut and dry when it comes to pruning...its a genetic thing...some strains don't mind it...others freak the fuck out and start growing hermi on you...It's best to lean on the side of caution when dealing with a plant you've never messed with before...once you get the hang of that strain then you can start messing with it to see what it does :)

Massah, you ever messed with purple kush? Im about to flower them in one week. They are short and bushy and want more lights to bud sites. Would you cut anything off of them?DSC02868.jpgDSC02925.jpg

Never tried it...my growing experience is very limited in strain ;) Those look pretty open... to me...bushy yes, but not compact...I trim my lower sections up a bit(lollipopping) to remove the lower sucker branches that won't amount to anything to direct more energy straight up to the colas :D

Mr Wig. I think you already know what your doing and seem to be doing a fine job! Nothing about the appearance of your plants or your set-up suggests you are a newbie. Thats right.. I'm accusing you of something I just don't know what. Frankly I don't see a blemish on your girls. Do you have a spot to both veg and flower so you always have something in the works? Keep doing what your doing.

Looks great bud and I want one of those.:D How much of an area are you working in?

haha, well, like I said, it's only my second grow so on thet front... Yes I am a neiwbe at this...

What might set me apart from other newbs that post here is that although I don't post to much, I do spend quite a bit of time looking at many other peoples posts and pick up lots of valuable information. I also think that if you want the best results why scrimp on things.

I have a small 60cmx60x160 for Vegging my girls. I have a 300w 6400k cfl which I did have in a powerplant reflector, but I have removed this in the last few days and just have the CFL on a hanger as IMO it appears to give far more light around the tent ?

On the other side of the room I have a 1.2mx1.2x2.0 tent for flowering. I did have a 600w magnetic ballast and just a cheap reflector but temps rose stupidly high so I bought a PowerPlant Aerowing which has worked wonders. I also swapped out the Magnetic ballast for a lumatek Digital....

i guess I probably know the main basics and my post was after a bit of encouragement and finding out if I am heading in the right direction :-)

Wig.. You have also done some outdoor gardening haven't you????? I don't follow the rule that says looking and listening are good places to start a new hobby but you did.. Ha Ha. You did your research. I also agree that you should not skimp if you don't have to. Being frugal is one thing but if your gonna invest 4 months plus you do want a fat yield. You should be encouraged wiggy. Those pics you posted look as good today as they did yesterday. Feel free to update them on a regular basis cause I can read but I love pictures.
Have you researched hash making yet? I'm betting you have. lol. I'm also betting there are newbies who have been gardening for years. Some folks never get it.
Rock On. You do know earwigs can crawl into your ear when your sleeping and use their tail pincers to damage your hearing.

Never done any gardening before, indoors or out.... Always hated it.... But this ? For some reason I really enjoy it, but I can't fathom out why Haha !

Anyway, I will up date as they go on from jnow but for a start I just got some pics of my big girl with a regular Clipper lighter...

She is a Paradise Seeds Delahaze and she is 7 weeks into 12/12 on a 600W HPS. She will be 8 weeks 12/12 this saturday...

Thoughts on my girl ? She looks good right ? :D

Dang she sure is pretty wig. Ha Ha. I do a lot of gardening wig But I have to admit That the rewards for this kind of gardening Are much sweeter than a bucket load of tomatoes . I'm just doing mk this grow but im sure gonna mix it up next time. Yur doing fine newbie

So just a little update with some new pics of my girls.

I have also taken a few other pics of my general set up and have also repotted my Pineaplle express and Purple Haze into bigger pots ;-)

Still no real sign of any ginger hairs yet so I am unsure if I should start to flush or if I should feed a little longer ? The kalashnikova (the 2 on the right side) are 1 week ahead of the Delahaze which are on the left....
