Hello everyone. Happy new year. I hoe this year will be alittle bit better than the last for everyone. I have 2 bubblicious plants from nirvana seeds. I have them in 1 gallon pots and they are about 3 weeks old. I have had them under a 2ft x 4bulb T5 from the start. I am planning on going 12/12 next week. I was wanting to know if its ok to flower under the T5 with 6500k bulbs or is it better to use the 2700k cfls I have? I dont have any 2700k T5s thats why I am asking. any help would be great.

From what I have read, bubblicious is an autoflower variety. What this means is that it flowers based on time and NOT on a shortened day length. For best growth, you are likely better with 20/4 cycle even during flowering.

6500k vs 2700k T5
Both are going to have about 60% green... research shows that anything over 24% green is ignored (this is why plants are green).
The 6500k is going to have more blue. The 2700k is going to have more red. While a lot of people tout that more red is better for flowering, I have never seen any solid research proving this.
My "gut" feeling is that 6500k is likely about as good as 2700k... but have no solid research to back up that opinion.

Thank you for the reply. Bubblicious does have a auto flower strain. I have the photo strain. So I would have to flower under 12/12.

Thank you for the reply. Yes I would love to flower under the T5 but I dont have any red T5 bulbs just 6500k. I do have 2700k cfls thats why I was asking if I can just flower under the T5 or change the bulbs to the cfls instead.
My first run was under all 6500. It will do just fine.

Like I said t5 on top and cfl on lower bud sites.

Great picture I would love to know your setup. what size light, what color bulbs. what size fan. What size pots.
Its all in the link in my signature.

Its a 2x4x6 cabinet. 4ft 8 bulb 432 watt t5.
4 inch ventech fan with 4x12 phresh filter.
50/50 mix of 6500 and 3000k bulbs.
2 7.5 gallon pots. Organic soil.
With a screen on top to make a scrog.

Look into "scrog. . It makes the most out of a t5.

Yes I would love to try a scrog soon. How much does your electric cost a month with everything going?

Your not going to have great results flowering under a 2ft 4 bulb t5 due to the lower amount if watts but it will work. Scrog it as best you cqn to get an even canopy and as many tops as you can. Add all you cfl lights now and once your screen is satrting ti fill in flip to 12/12 you will want a small short plant for your lighting to be as effect as possible.

Yeah my 2' 4 bulb t5 is like 96w, and at max 10,000 lumen. Its good for coverage, but I'd suggest some supplemental lighting from cfl. I added another 138w of cfl around mine, which is an additional 9600 lumen. Its a great amount of light for my space. The plants seem to be loving it.
