flourescent growing help

i am thinking about trying to grow with 4 foot flourescent tube lights i was wondering how many plants i can grow with 4 lights and any advice would be great. thanks.

well it obviously depends on a couple of things like the size of your space and the wattage of your lights.

Assuming you are using high output 4 ft t5s (which i have in my clone / mom tent) and they put out about 5,000 lumens for 50 watts, with four of them you're talking about maybe 200W of lighting. I'd say certainly no more than 4 plants

Not a lot of penetration with a light like that.
Plan to add side lighting how ever many
you end up putting under there.
As they grow taller, you'll need more light
for the bottom/lower buds.

get a couple of CFLs, they should do the trick

If the heat from a cfl could be vented somehow, i'd like to see a string of
cfls invented for growing.
Think ultra bright, ultra cooled christmas tree
lights and you'll get what i mean.
Penetration, no problem. Light placement, no problem.
