Florida Growers Thread

Hi all, newbie here. I live in South FL close to Ft Lauderdale. Going to start my first grow in a couple of weeks. I am going to use a Secret Jardin DR60 since all I need is a couple of plants. Undecided on lighting but may go with a 400 if that's not too big. I'll do a fan or two as well and probably filter the exhaust. Seeds are on the way so now is time for me to obtain the hardware. Anybody grow in their garage? Is it too hot? Any recs on where to get the stuff?

I like this time of year in FL. If you can get some good outdoor harvest, sit outback with the grill cooking steaks, and smoke you one.

Thanks for the welcome! The garage is not A/C but this time of year is pretty cool so I figured I would be OK. I can also rig something up if temps are too hot. I see I can get a small portable AC unit for less than $300. My thought is if I start now I can "beat the heat." :)

Its nice and cool out perfect time for drying and curing if you still got to harvest and are ready.Mold is going dormant from the cool, theres to much of that shit floating around the air in these parts during spring/summer.Happy growing people!

i take hair from my chow dog and put it under the main stalk. it keeps the deer off of it and it helps act as a mulch

about the garage, if you have an attic fan it will pull in air and keep the temps down
do it at night to air the house out
if daytime temps are to high only crack the door open up a LITTLE bit or all the hood will know your growing.

get a magnifying glass or high powered lense and look at the crystals known as trichomes and determing if they are clear milky or amber. you want a mixture of milky and amber as clear im premature

Better not be growing near my patch on Tom's island. Them Country Bears'll Captain Eo that ass.
No, there's a nice topiary patch near the graves at The Haunted Mansion. I stuck a few plants in there and bonsai them to look like Mickey smokin a bowl. 4 harvests and they haven't noticed yet. :P

Hey Homies! I just now found this thread. Glad too meet ya. I am in Pinellas cty, Largo to be exact. I am originally from Chicago but have lived here much more than 1/2 my life. In 2008 I made the sad mistake of moving to DISGUSTA GA. Last April I made my escape and came back home. Very glad to be back! I am an indoor, soil, tent guy. I have a pretty small set-up but all I need is enough for personal use. My current grow is about 3 weeks from harvest. I wanted to experiment with LST this round so I am doing a side by side. The LST was very nice and I am planning on doing it for all my grows from now on. How do you like my girls?Picture 015.jpg
