I've found, much to my surprise that the majority of 'Republican' people, particularly gun guys would much RATHER see legalization of MJ. They think that an unreasonable number of gun deaths occur due to prohibition and that the prohibition in part gives gun guys a bad name too. So many gun owners will vote for legalization of any kind to reduce the number of negative firearm related news headlines ... Even if the 'Central Florida Hillbilly/Redneck' doesn't care of Marijuana, they care very much about keeping negative press away from guns. Throw that in with the fact that most 'republicans' are more inretested in less government they'll gladly see the spending not be done on the War on Drugs.

This is true and MANY of them feel that the war on Marijuana in particular is a waste of their money. They don't understand why 600B of 800B of the 'war on drugs' money is going to marijuana. Not all of them are stuck up John Ashcrofts, I've actually smoked up with a few and had this very discussion.
I was shocked to find out how many conservatives support legalization of marijuana.

Yepper.... As a whole conservatives give more money away than any other group of people. They just wish for it to be utilized wisely. Weed siphons billions away and returns nothing except broken families.
