Thanks. I have great genetics from Barney's farm, dinafem, TG Seeds, Dutch passion. Ended up making RSO Oil out of the a. gold. I'm cloning different strains to improve my skills. 23 days from finishing Dutch passion euphoria. And 33 days from harvest of cotton candy and blue cheese. I will scrog tha grinspoon
very nice. ya the grinspoon will need some training to keep it low. good luck!

Hi I'm semi new to growing. Maybe 3 weeks from 3rd harvest. I have 3 - 10 other ladies in veg for 50 - 60 days (purchased seeds) and just cloned, in soil, 3 more. Trying to get a perpetual harvest going. I use a 11/13 photo period and scrog, lots of LST (duct tape and wire), love fox farm everything, aerated worm cast tea and top dress with local worm casting. I will grow mostly organic sativas. Don't mind the long wait. My husband and I are patients and have been caught in this economy and something's gotta give. I will be researching dr grinspoon, Zamaldelica, and alcopolco gold for my next grow.
Welcome to RIU. Hope you enjoy your stay and find everything you are looking for. ( Just watch out for the assholes. They're everywhere around these parts)
But I have a question. Why the 11/13 flowering period? Simply curious. Have you found it works better than 12/12?
Ive read about slowly shortening the flowering times to quicken ripening but to my understanding a lack in yield is the over all downfall of the method.
But talk to me, why 11/13?

I listen to the podcast, "Freeweed", with Danny Danko, and from lots of reading and my own understanding of gardening and fishing. It's my understanding (could be wrong) that if it's spring your plants get equal light, if it's summer they get more light and if it's fall and winter you get less light. I live in Miami and our days are 10 hours currently and outside growers and gorilla grows do just fine.

what that means to me is that my veg time should replicate spring/summer, I find 18/6 - on/off works best
My sativa and sativa dominate flowering time should be less light and more dark. If I grow indicas or indica dominate I would use 12/12

breeder named DJ Short. The maker of Blueberry strain and big Buddha, the maker of uk cheese and drew west the author of "secrets of the west coast masters", all use this photoperiod timing method. DJ short finds 13/11 brings out more sativa phenotypic expressions. I suffer from depression and I like the high.

Im not sure that information is correct but I wont argue with a fellow Floridian. Welcome to the team.

You kno what? I agree. A sativa dominat strain should most def be flowered under less daylight. This should quicken the process a tad. Good thinking

Hello all, I am looking for a mentor. I have been gifted several plants and I have brought 4 to flower and my success varies from rubbish to smokable.

I live in the tropics and I like Sativas and sativa dominate strains. I grow for personal medicine and would like to one day find seasonal work out west in the US until my state is freed. Fall is starting now.

I am currently flushing several plants, flowering several plants in soil, vegging several plants in soil in a separate closet and popping seeds in shot glass in water.

I am interested in going coco hydro with the seeds I am popping, while maintaining my current soil grow.

Budget $ not $$$

My equipment
Sun
Rain water and RO water
3 x 300w CFL for small veg room painted white
1 x 400w HPS can change to MH, Mylar

2 fans
A/C
Damp rid
Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil
Coco Coir
Expanded clay pellets
Pro-mix
Perlite
Rock wool
1/2 gal vegging pots
5 gal HD buckets with drain holes

Nutes for soil
Fox Farm Big Bloom, Grow Big (soil), Tiger Bloom

Nutes for hydro grow
Fox Farm Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom
Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice Grow because the store ran out of Grow Big (Hydro)

Local worm casts, composted manure, molasses, kelp, sugar, bubbled tea weekly (adding alfalfa per jimmi420) not PH'd
Neem, BT, Kelp, soap foliar feed every 3-5 days during veg not PH'd
Ladybugs weekly or biweekly

Plants veg in Sun when sunny. 16/8 photoperiod for veg and 11/13 for flowering
Preferred ph for soil 6.5
Preferred ph for hydro veg more acid ph for hydro flower more alkaline

Strains popping
Dutch Passion Euphoria
Northern lights auto
Cotton candy

I just wanna grow good weed

Chad, I gotta say-
You wont find many people here that are gonna want to help you in detail. Anything you ask will most likely be answered with a snide remark or a simple "you have google, right?"
As far as you needing a Mentor, Im here if you need me but I can only do so much. My advice to you is get your Post number higher so your peers except you as one of us and not somebody begging for information. Contribute to the community and people will contribute back. We are all learned to grow through trial and error and chances are you will have to do the same. I dont mind answering any questions you have but the minute you argue with me, Im gonna consider myself out of the equation. The internet has sooo much information and I can guarantee that any question you have has been asked before and the answer will be somewhere on the net. Download a "Cannabis Deficiency Chart" Thats a good start.

First word of encouragement- If you want a very simple no hassle grow, I suggest using a just add water, organic plan. You really only need FFOF, perlite, pots and water. That and patience. Good luck.

Thank you. Will do!

Not a whole lot of action on the Fl Growers thread ! I guess its a slow time of year . Maybe we should have a discussion on outdoor mold control ! Anybody have some advice in here ? I mean when it rains everyday in Aug and Sept , someone has a theory on mold control . I'm talking outdoors with no cover . Sativas, Indicas, they all mold up the same here ! Lets hear some solutions. Anyone ?

You could start a bit earlier in the year or institute some light deprivation to get you plant to flower earlier. You could use an acid bath, Low PH water will make it hard for mold to establish itself. Bubbled compost tea will spray living organisms on the leaves which will dominate the space.
