Floresnt Lighting?

Hey I have had many attemps and failurs and so i decided to get a little more serous. but i need to know, I have 2, 2 foot floresent light bulbs that produce 800 lumens each. and i waz wonderring if i could youse mirrors to inhance it or should i just return the bulbs and start over?????

Dont!! Mirrors eat light!!

No amount of reflection will help a Fluorescent light, they just done have enough penetration power. No need to use a reflector with fluoros.

So should i just not use them?

i wouldn't recommend them, you need at LEAST 2000 lumens per square foot so......if you're looking into fluorescent lighting (so am i) i would go with T5 High Output fluorescents. htgsupply.com would have em. they're great i hear, very discreet and not too expensive either.

yeah go wit the t-5's they produce great light with little to no heat so you can put them close. 800 lumen wont get you anything those are for clones and seedlings. Mirrors eat light get mylar.
You can get 2 2ft lamp that produce 2000 a pop. Loghead is right i ordered my t-5's from them and they are very cheap i got all 4 of my lights from them and plan on getting another. you could try a small hps too.
Wat strain do you plan on growing?

actually its more like 7000-8500 lumens psf

really i was told by my boy it's 2000 too.

I Plan on growing White widow with quontites of 6-8 plants at a time

What type of room do you have?

I say go with 1000 watts if you have the money, about 420 dollars (ha) from HTG for bulb, reflector, ballast, everything you need.

If that sound expensive consider that 6-8 plants are producing about a pound of weed every 3 months. A pound of weed is worth 4 grand.
