It won't matter really one time , you need to understand the weight by lifting , water then lift it up, get used to the weight of a watered pot then the day you lift and it very light is the day you water again,you can use the knuckle method but I'm not a fan of that. Watering is like to keep kicking a ball before it slows down keeping momentum up, so not toltally dry but not wet either. Takes practice
 
Good to know.thanks. I had a light that didn't turn on for my vegging Blue cookies plant..So I got it going and I leaving the light on until the next scheduled dark period which is at 2:30 this afternoon..Am I right to do that?

You should just leave it on the timer, for example if your light is supposed to come on at 7 am and go off at 7 pm but failed to come on and you got it working at 12pm then just carry on your normal light schedule, at 7pm it will go off, don't leave the light on straight through until the next day, unless your in veg.
