Yeah you're in a no runoff system, you wouldn't be able to feed full strength due to some nutrients building up, with my system I am achieving ~20% runoff or so every time I water which washes out a lot of accumulation that you would normally get not doing drain to waste.I grow in coco & perlite with AutoPots in 4x4 tents. I use a trellis net, and I'm using lights that push about 650 watts in each tent.
For my setup following that weekly feed schedule for "medium" feed is just right. If I go above the PPM range specified I burn plants, below and they are underfed. I mix up 4 gallons of nutrients in 2 gallons of RO water, then I add additional water until I get to the desired PPM range.
This is working for me so far.
I used to feed mild strength when I watered and let the plants just sit in the trays with the runoff, definitely did not get as good/consistent of results though. It works, but not as good as having a balanced feed with runoff.
Another thing to note is some soilless mixes hold nutrients and water better than others. I noticed with the brand of coco/perlite I'm using right now it drains a little too freely and I have to water plants a little at a time to not have my nutes just flush out the pots. TheBucketCompany brand coco/perlite.. I prefer the Mother Earth coco/perlite, it has a lot more pith in it and holds water and nutrients a lot better.
