Flora Series new feedcharts!

Hi everyone!

Usually with salt based nutrients people use half of the recommended dose. I saw that General Hydroponics has released some new charts of the flora series trio. Now there is 3 different strengths: Agressive, Medium and Light.

My question is: Which one makes more sense to cut in half?

Im using the 3 part feeding schedule with some additives:

CaliMagic (using Ro water)
Armor Si (Silica)
Diamond Nectar (Humic Acids)

should I cut the additives recomend dose in half too?

Thanks!

same chart I've been using for a few years.
I run the "light feed" schedule DTW rockwool.
trio only, no extras.

I believe the "cut it in half" is for the feed chart shown on the bottle.

It depends what you are growing in too. I'm growing in coco, and using the "medium" feed burned my plants pretty bad. I had been using this older chart ...

I couldn't find where GH recommends this or offers this chart anywhere now, but maybe I missed it. Maybe they are trying to get people to buy their coco lineup for coco.

Anyways, this chart is better for coco, and I also have the "expert" version, if you want to use all the bells and whistles.

Do you use full strength with this chart?

Im growing in Peat/Perlite 50/50.

got it. the light feed seems to be pretty similar in quantities to the chart that @manfredo shown

One thing I noticed. Both charts use different amounts of the base nutrients, but the final PPM's / EC are about the same .

Yeah I would start out with the "light" feed and increase from there as needed....But I'm not familiar with growing in Peat, so maybe someone else will comment.

othe thing is,

it says on the chart "soiless" so I think its the same for peat and coco.
but sometimes gets a little confusing... I cannot find a chart that contains armor si, calimagic and diamond nectar in the same place. so I'll go with the light feeding + additives half dose maybe

I grow in coir and use the ratios they provide but max out ppm at like 500 and still get minor tip burn. If I fed even the “light” schedule it would fry them.

Do you dilute the mixed solution to arrive at your target ppm?
Are you using Ro water?

Yeah I’ll do something like mix up a gallon using the strong schedule and then pour a little into gallon jugs of water until they get to the ppm I want.

I use about 80% RO mixed with 20% tap for the minerals. The tap water here comes out around 400ppm

thanks man. I will keep that in mind.

I run aggressive full strength with no problems and sometimes need to go up even higher. Instead of cutting in half if your seeing burn or your plants aren't taking aggressive feed just use mild or low strength. No need to cut anything in half. My setup is dialed and has high power lighting and co2 supplementation so that changes things. Also I feed my shrubs once a day in 15 gal pots of coco/perlite. I find keeping the pH in the yellow 6.0 zone is ideal.

I use the Maxi which is basically the same thing just in powder form and 1 part instead of 3 parts. Slightly different ratios. I'm reading around 2.2-2.4 EC once everything is mixed. I like to add a little epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) to my solution, around 1 gram per gallon once weekly.

Thanks for the reply.......Yeah I've seen people successfully running 2.4Ec without encountering issues.

Whats the overall PPFD on your tent? What tent size?

We know that in the realm of cannabis cultivation, a crucial principle comes into play: when you make adjustments to one aspect, such as increasing light intensity, a domino effect follows where other factors also require enhancement. This includes maintaining optimal water levels, ensuring a well-balanced VPD, adjusting nutrient strength, additional CO2 as you mentioned, and so forth.

Naturally, the specific strain being cultivated also plays a role, but my current aim is to establish a secure starting point. By doing so, I can then fine-tune various parameters based on the plants responses and needs.

I keep my PPFD maxed out as close to plants as possible, last time I checked they were like 1200-1300 PPFD at the top of the canopy. I don't grow in tents anymore.

You're absolutely correct, any lack of co2, water, nutrients or light, pH, lack/excess airflow will cause everything to kinda fall out of whack. I run my Co2 around 1500 PPM, temps 80 °F / 60% day 75 °F / 55% night.

I have around 1000 sq/ft of grow space, not all used because I'm a poor home grower so I keep things as frugal as possible. This setup has taken me almost 6 years to build up to very perpetually and slowly. I like having space to walk around and work, so I have never really planned to stuff this basement full even though I'm licensed to grow 48 plants by my state, with clone room, veg room and flower I'm only growing around 36 plants.

Amazing, man!

Your setup is seriously impressive... Major congrats on that, fo sure!

Is that a trio of 5gallon pots side by side? cause that's exactly the game plan I've got for my 3x3 grow tent. Hoping to roll with 3 to 4 plants in 5gallon pots.

Man, I wish I had even half the workspace you've got. But hey, city life has its drawbacks, doesn't it?

well, big thanks for taking the time to swing by and drop some of your experience here.

It's just awesome when you witness all that hard work translating into such fantastic results.

Yessir I personally use 15 gallon pots of coco/perlite now and feed once a day 3/4 dry cups MaxiBloom and 6ml/gal Armor Si to 32 gallons every day. I'm going to be switching to drip feed soon just need to buy all the stuff and put it together.

I grow in coco & perlite with AutoPots in 4x4 tents. I use a trellis net, and I'm using lights that push about 650 watts in each tent.

For my setup following that weekly feed schedule for "medium" feed is just right. If I go above the PPM range specified I burn plants, below and they are underfed. I mix up 4 gallons of nutrients in 2 gallons of RO water, then I add additional water until I get to the desired PPM range.

This is working for me so far.
