Flood time question?

My setup is a 100L tote under a smaller 8" deep tote/tray with net pots suspended in the lid From the start I have been running the pump 24/7 and having pretty good results. Also I dont use air and floom for dissolved oxygen needs. Whats your thoughts on timing the floods, should I? They are at 12/12 now for 25 days and I have now set timer at 15 min flood every hour to see if it helps or hinders growth. Would I get better results or should I turn off timer and leave it run 24/7? Thanks for any insight!

leave the timer, you don't want your water temps to get too high, and i didn't see you mention a water chiller.

i ran 5 on 25 off with fantastic results, but do what works for you. just keep your water below 68f.

Think about it,...if your pump goes 24 hours with nute ..then you change it to 15 minutes on per hour on.... or 75% less than the original, obversely you need to compensate in the nute timing too, but 15 minutes on per hour is what I have used in the past ...work best

I am running at 1 hour on 2 hours off and getting good results. However, I am a noob and its my first grow. Have you experimented w the different time differentials and found 15 minutes every hour is most efficient?

Well for the first time ever my ppm's are slowly dropping by like 15-20 ppm's, they are typically going up 25-50 ppm per day but I am only running 600-650. Ph seem's to be holding steady. I'll keep it timed for a bit and see what happens. I also defoliated one of the smaller plants as a test. I know lol, but I had to see for my self. This is a bit of a test run to try different things. I am running 6 Kosher and supposedly 2 blue elephant but she's sure isn't the biggest plant in the world lol.

Bottom line ...yes like you back in 85 I piddled around worrying this and that ...a friend put me straight, and I too settled on his 15 minutes on every hour, and ballasted everything to that dial in ...it worked
24 hours =15 minutes every hour for 2 months on average for bud plus 1 month of veg

How do I compensate? So really the ppm's should rise quicker than before right? I will keep an eye on that part of it.

Also water never gets above 70 but typically around 68. And no chiller yet. I am moving the shed this summer so waiting till fall to set up cold water fan coil using recirculated lake water. The nutes are still falling by 20-30 ppm's as of this morning. Its res change day as well. The defoliated plant hasn't died yet either lol.

So update! Switched pump back on 24/7 due to plants got real unhappy. Started to droop and got leaf curl. The defoliated plant is not doing bad and may actually have a tad bigger bud growth.
