floating clay pellets ?!?!?!

I'm going to be using a ebb N flow system. I am testing and cleaning my pots and pellets in my sink. I didn't realize that these things floated. One of the pots actually start to float and then tipped over and spilled the pellets into the sink.

What's a good method of keeping my pot weighted down when flooding?

here are my pots and my pellets that I need to be weighted down. I suppose I could put some kind of weight on the bottom of it, but as I said earlier, I didn't realize that clay pellets rose with the water. Or at least these do. Maybe I got the wrong brand?

mine dont float,matbey those containers are floating,did you soak the pellets and ph adjust them,before putting into the pots?

ok i just checked them in a cup of water and they do float,they didnt float when they were in the drip system ,but the water level was only three quarters of the way up the pot.

I was under the impression that Hydroton was PH neutral? First Time I've heard
But yes I baked them under high heat, and then soaked them with some mild bleach mixture to make sure if anything was lurking in there would be killed.

Like I said I am going to be doing an Ebb and Flow. When the water enters my pots, the pellets rise up. It's wierd.

I think I have everything ok now. I was just surprised to see these pellets floating. Didn't expect that at all. Once i set my height of flood, they seemed ok.

Hydroton doesn't need to be ph adjusted. Thats just a waist of time and ph up and down.

hydroton can get in ur roots justfine they wont do a thing
