I used to use large Sterilite totes cut to the size i wanted. At walmart they are a few bucks and maybe $7 for the biggest. The ones i used were like 10 each but they fit a 2x4 tent perfect.
Seed starter kits are good to use too...20191207_132735.jpg

yea i've done similar. i tend to go for quality and prefer things that just happen to be perfect rather than customized to work if you know what i mean, i got probably the strongest tray ive ever had from work, it was a catch pan off of an old cold table unit and it was ALMOST perfect, it measured 12inches x 26inches though so wouldnt fit in my 2x1 area :(

Forget EVER running “ any “ autoflower under 12/12 ... although autos will flower under any light schedule , it isnt recommended . Not only will it be an under sized , less yielding plant .... you dont gain any advantage by running it at 12/12.

When i run autos and regs , i just keep autos in
a “ veg “ cycle ( 18/6 or better ) with the vegging regs then move “ only “ the plants that need flipping to the flower tent or area. This way you can do perpetual grows with autos and run the regs as big as you want and flip when you want. Autos need as much light from the start - to fully energize it to root as big as it can before it’s internal clock moves it to preflower. Remember autos are on their own clock and will flower when ready or stressed.
As I stated before, for some auto-flower strains running a 12/12 is beneficial. On the other hand, running autos that aren't good for it on a 12/12, your yield and potency will suffer a bit in the end, but one of the best known benefits of running any auto-flower on a 12/12 cycle is *drum roll* a lower power bill. Not sure about you but I sure as hell don't want a jacked up power bill either draining my wallet or drawing attention to me. Or, people throw them in with they're flowering plants that are already on a 12/12 cycle. Not everyone has the $$ or space to have two tents or grow spaces. It's all about convenience my guy. Yes, the yield will suffer, but we grow the way we can grow given our circumstances.

I run my lights 24-7 and my electric bill was 80-90 bucks a month... And I veg my photos with my autos and I have giant photos in the end... But that's just me...

Yeh ... mine runs $67 a month so as far your power consumption you might want to look at alternatives.
But if you do what you do and if it works for you then it’s all good.
