Sorry everyone, I have been having trouble getting solder to stick to this COB. I just got a new soldering station and different solder and will try late tonight to get one together.

Pre-tin the lead and the cob?

I can't get the COB tinned, that is the problem. I even tried to pre heat the COB.

I found the CXB3070s harder to solder than the CXA3070s for some reason. I am not great at soldering and use way to heavy of wire gauge 14awg

Where can a person get the luna series chips. I like the looks of the 100 or 120.

You can call Flip Chip Opto and tell them you saw them here. The have a duo model coming soon. I will try to get more info on it Monday.

Scratch the pads gently to remove oxidized layer?

And a bit of flux maybe?

Are you trying to tin the cob while its mounted on the heatsink ?
if so take it off the heatsink to solder wires to it. if not then I don't have a clue.

The Mechatronix Cool bay series(Tera &GIGA) use phase change material, so function like a heat exchange system, not unlike what laptops use under processors, they cycle the temp up and down the copper

Thanks but that isn't enough cooling for me. And HOLY SHIT THIS THING IS BRIGHT!!!!
I only have a LUX meter, but I will get some # at a few different distances without a reflector.

First one is the light @ 4' I get 36000 Lux


At 3'


At 2'


At 2' one foot off center


At 18"


At 12"


And at the wall

Getting a couple girls tomorrow. I went down to my friends store to use his PAR meter. It is a crappy hydrofarms meter that I just turned on without checking the settings.
At 2'= 478
At 18"= 870
At 12"= 1820
This is still with no reflector of any kind.
