Make sure you don't interrupt the dark cycle. Keep it as dark as possible when they're sleeping.

As long as they aren't exposed to light during the dark cycle, and they have enough ventilation, they will be fine in a closet.

A fan should be fine. What @PadawanWarrior is talking about is COMPLETE darkness. No peeking. No pictures. No light whatsoever. Even the smallest LED on a power strip can interrupt things. Complete...darkness.

Well, it's best to at least have an exhaust fan that sucks air outta the closet. The main thing is that you want to keep the air fresh.

As well op, without air exchange/movement, your odds of developing pm rise dramatically at lights off, since the rh spikes dramatically.
