Has anyone noticed any difference in tap water quality after the change of reservoirs? I asked a few months ago but think that was before the change over took place. I read the article below at mlive and I am getting back to town in a few weeks.

I also recall a county in inland empire ca changing reservoirs a few years back and f' ed up everyone's gardens big time.

FLINT, MI -- City crews are flushing fire hydrants in the College Cultural and downtown areas in an effort get discolored drinking water out of the system.

The city said in a news release that the work is taking place today, July 30, and may continue Thursday, July 31.

"The hydrant flushing is in response to localized complaints of discolored water," the statement from the city says. "Residents in the affected areas may see increased water cloudiness for a short time, but the water will be safe to drink.

"The water throughout the City meets all (state Department of Environmental Quality) required drinking water standards."

City spokesman Jason Lorenz said today that he was unsure what caused the water discoloration.

The city's statement says the activity is a "part of normal water quality and system maintenance and a part of the city's effort to provide high quality water to its residents and businesses."

The city began using the Flint River for drinking water in late April, ending decades of purchasing Lake Huron water supplied by the city of Detroit.

Flint officials have said they plan to use Flint River water until the new Karengnondi Water Authority pipeline to Lake Huron is completed, possibly by the end of 2016.

I'm on Flint City Water and it stinks, Literally it stinks like pond water. :(
The ppms used to stay around 115, now they're around 340 depending on the day. There was a week or so that the ppms had dropped back to normal but it didn't last long. When you fill your bath tub up the water it is green like pond water.
Now they're are using chloramine too.
I haven't noticed any ill effects on the plants though, knock on wood. :)

I'm surprised there isn't more chatter about this topic. Looks to me like the Governor and a few appointed officials may have some explaining to do. It would be nice to see Tricky Dick doing interviews from a prison cell.
