I used 5mil each KLN & Pro-tekt per my 3gal rez
I try this awhile back because of your recommendation. Originally it made things worse for me due to creating more slime. I have sinced realized that my water temps would rise to high and that was creating my issues. The KLN does a nice job of knarling the cuts and I will use it for the first week before changing out the water.

I have my CK in a cabinet and it can get warm inside once its all closed up. I have used some ice cubes at times and it works well in these summer months. I tried to mimic Bob as much as possible when I first started using it. I did find I had to use some other techniques to improve my results personally but, it does work well when you have it dialed in.

When I used to run a 27 gallon aerocloner, a cap full of clorox brand bleach would allow me to run the aero cloner for 2 weeks with no res changes
Clorox bleach works wonders to just do clones with and keep the water from becoming anaerobic. I also used a recirc timer I think it was like 20s on/5 min off or something like that , this setting helps keep temperatures low as well as having a large res

Now I use a bubble cloner, tap water only . The brand is oxy clone and uses a small submersible pump with a venturi , with an airpump and the water doesn't get hot with it

In my opinion nothing besides water should be needed , there are some good rules to follow though

-Thoroughly clean everything everytime you use it, before and after. Use soap and a nylon scrubby to get any film off of the unit. If you were lazy last time around do a few cleanings and maybe use bleach as well. If using an airstone, soak that thing or replace it. Make sure it is very clean! In an aero setup, you may want to run something like you're saying to keep all the internal lines cleared out.. you shouldnt get any build up besides plant matter though using tap water if it is a low PPM

-treat it like surgery.. I take a brand new razor, clean with soap, then rinse. I then wipe it with alcohol after this then wipe it off, then before using the razor I hit it with a flame from my lighter lol!

- let the clones soak . This is a "trick" which may be bro science now... and may apply only to clones you are doing in soil with a dome. The idea is that air pockets can get stuck in the stem and cause it to wilt off, if you cut them first with scissors and put them in a cup, then bring them to a cutting board to re-cut with the razor I think it is the fastest simplest way to cut clones

- Take upper and lower clones from different "ages"- some strains don't like being cloned. taking woody and soft cuttings from the same plant may help alot

-not too much light! Less is more.. I've always stuck with a cfl or t5 at 12" or MORE (24/7 light cycle) away from the tops of the clones. Very important because too much light will cause the plant to metabolize instead of push out roots

and the most important trick to me
after taking clones let the cloner run for a day. This will allow any particles from taking cuts to be flushed out and not contaminate the system. Also during the first 3 days or so you will most likely spot any failed clones by looking at the bottoms of them you can tell if they look slimy or just dead looking.

hope some of these blabs help out with cutting clones man. I love the diaries and you are killing it man!

Hey everyone first of all let me start this update by wishing you all a fun and safe 4th of July! I don't have much going on, might go down to Miss Flatrate's parents house as they are having a small gathering in the evening. Down to business.

I got the Phresh 24x6 carbon filter with a 6 inch Active Air fan hung in the first 4x4 tent. I also chopped on Sundae Float and have it drying in there.tn_IMG_0809.JPG

Here is some of the up and coming genetics I got going on, and these will be cloned.

Envy Genetics.
Ring Pops (Wedding Cake x Blowpops)
Pop Rocks (Fruity Pebbles OG x Blowpops)
Tropical Popsicle (Slurricane x Blowpops)

Maine Michigan Mafia Genetics.
GOJI Lady (GOJI OG x Lady Daze)
Had 3 pop out of the soil this morning. This is a late addition, my friend picked it out, and we figured why not since I'll have the space.

Here are a couple of the crop finishing up, they got about a week left.

So now its all about vegging out the plants I got coming up, getting clones and filling the three tents. Last night I got an email from @RainDan at Timber letting me know my Redwood VS's will be complete and shipped on July 10th.

Whats going on everyone? Nothing really to report here, this round is coming down in the next few days and will have some final pictures during the chop! The one Sundae Float that was in flower before the rest got trimmed up today. It pains me to report that I actually trimmed it myself, first and only plant I have trimmed so far this year. I fucking hate trimming!

Update time!

As usual I didn't take any pictures today, I just don't think about it. Now I am done going to the grow rooms for today, I am going to enjoy some comfort and beer while I write this, but will get some pictures soon.

I started today by chopping all the plants in flower and have them hanging in the one 4x4 tent. Then started working on getting all the plants in 1 gal pots into 5 gal pots. Right now the 5x5 with the Fatty Vs is pulling veg duty, gotta bulk up the plants to take clones. I figured out awhile ago that the 2x4 tent wasn't enough for a proper veg. Yeah I could have cycled a few plants at a time, but it will make a nice mother hut.

Yesterday I got most of the little ones in Solo cups into 1 gal pots. So the plan is vegging things out seeing what I got, taking clones and filling the tents, and hopefully get a few mothers out of the deal to run for a bit. I am getting into things I have never done before, and I am excited about the learning experience, and a little nervous.

Where the hell does the time go?

For those of you who look in on me, I am sorry. Work has been busy, and I am trying to get everything set up in the new area. Still waiting on packages and what not. I should have it ready in a week or two, plus some days I am just tired.

However sometime ago I made the choice that in the near future I willing be stepping down from my position at my job and will be putting in less hours there. I've been in my position for 13 years and in away its kinda of hard to let it go, but it will free up time and allow me to do things I enjoy.

Stay tuned!

Hey folks here are a few pictures of what I've been up to!

Here I am try to get a shot of the two new 4x4's, its a narrow room and can't get a side by side.

tn_IMG_0838.JPG

Here is one of them almost ready to go, I am waiting on one more Active Air exhaust fan so I can hang everything and plumb the exhaust.

tn_IMG_0842.JPG

Here is the other Redwood VS.

tn_IMG_0840.JPG

And around the corner from the picture above is this little area, that I am calling "The Clone Cave".

tn_IMG_0841.JPG

Then I wanted to get a shot or 2 of the plants in flower, I took one picture and saw something wrong.

tn_IMG_0845.JPG

First two on the right side.................. fucking males. So far after that veg round I had 7 total plants, chopped 3 a week or so ago, and now 2 more today. So down to 2, I added 5 more plants yesterday, so we'll see what happens. I just want to find a couple nice ladies and run the fuck out of that cloner.

And the hits keep on hitting...............fuck me!

Two more fucking males, so as it stand 7 of the 12 plants I've recently put into flower have been male. The other night I was a little pissed and started thinking on what I can do to get my operation fully up and running with out wasting more time and materials on males. Then an thought from the recent past hit me.

I am going Maury Povich on them! I remembered sometime ago my brother on the west coast @TintEastwood did DNA testing, I didn't know it even know it was a thing till I seen his post. Went over the pros and cons, I have 30 test kits arriving Monday, so I should be able to catch the filthy bastards before they ever leave solo cups. Thanks again Tint!

Got these in the mail today. Had a pack of the GorillaPops soaking 30 minutes out of the mailbox.

Thats what I got right now, I am finishing up the other space soon and over the weekend decided to do something to get the seedlings out of the 2x4 tent. It will be part of The Clone Cave.

Well discovered yet another male yesterday, it took a minute to show up...........fucking bastards!

Just now I started to collect samples for DNA testing.

tn_IMG_0857.JPG

Got these after my last post, these are the lights I chose for project Clone Cave.

tn_IMG_0859.JPG

I know its a little overkill, thats why I got the dimmers. I figured since I had almost everything to complete my little operation, and not bragging but spent some coin, why cheap out now. I am done buying gear, unless something breaks this will be my set up for awhile, I am not going any bigger than what I have.

I have the gear, now I need plants to fill the spaces, things are going to get interesting!

My 1000th post, so I figured I would waste it here!

Tomorrow I think is the year anniversary for this thread and I've been steady at it for awhile now. I plan on soon going like hell and getting everything up and running, just waiting on plants. I knew this transition would take some time to get in order and up and running, so be it.

I will say that along the way here on RIU I've met some good people and have made some friends. I would like to add a thank you to everyone who has followed this thread, gave advice or just talked about whatever, I welcome it all. Anytime you want to get off topic thats cool!

Have a good one!
