Flat stem polyploid

Yo Sub, I did not realize what I had going on with this qleaner until I saw a post about flat stem cannabis plants. I've got one of my qleaners ( the runt of twins) that is doing the flat stem growth and non symmetrical growth. should I expect anything special out of this plant? What can you tell us about polyploids? It's only 10 days into flower, and I'll keep track in the journal below. Here is the top of one branch.

Very interesting. I just heard about this rare mutation a couple weeks ago. Sorry I can't give you any info but please keep us posted with pics on how it turns out, it will be very interesting to see in flowering

Here is a shot of the flat stem. I noticed that the other branch is a triploid branch. To sum up, this was the runt of twins, and grew with two tops on it's own. one top is polyploid the other triploid. I wonder what parent plant is passing on all this weirdness?

its a genetic thing with the qleaner strain i think, i had ones that did this as well as being triploidal and or flat stemmed, never seen it in any other gear then tga

one of my AOS males did this. for females, I had a medicine man, and black widow do this.

The interesting thing is, after taking cuts, the cuts didnt grow flat stemmed.
IMO: I don't think anything of it.

on an episode of strain hunters they discuss the flat stem, its a result of indiginous isolation where population imbreeding brough out a trait where a flat stem develops and leaves grow directly from the stem and it stops branching.. might be able to harvest something if its not too bad but it is an undesireable trait

I've seen this before and it can result in some funky growing plants. Have you ever seen a tree that splits into two tops naturally, without being damaged, as it grows upward? This is similar to that. Often times these "flat stem" plants will be trying to form two separate stems inside there. How it responds seems to depend on physical stimuli during its growth period. I recommend topping plants like this early.
