Hola folks thanks for stopping in. I am a legal medical patient here in the Big Sky and I am starting (finally) my grow op. I am a construction contractor and remodeled two rooms and bath into on large room, bath and Walk-in closet. it is pretty stealthy even though it need not be. hidden sliding door in the back of a smaller closet and (soon to be) mirror/door for the other entrance. It has been a life-long goal to do this so I am very excited and wish to do things right. I am also up for experimentation and hope to have fun most of all. so let me walk through my setup first.

Lighting - I am using a Dual 600W switchable lumatek ballast wired solely for 220v-240v Currently I have one side providing MH light (sunmaster) for the veg room and the other side providing HPS (Ushio) for my Flower room. My intent is to move both lamps into the flower room and run both as HPS as soon as more of my plants mature. Also I am staging plants at about 2 week intervals so that I will have new harvest approximately every 2 weeks... forever :hump: hehe. I would then possible veg under some T5 tubes... maybe get a 400w MH... input would be awesome. I am looking to keep shorter bushy girls around.
I have both lamps enclosed in Hydrofarm Daystar AC hoods vented with two 500 cfm Inline can fans. ($30 at lowe's) not the best but i figure i got about 350 cfm out of them and they are cooling sufficiently during the cooler weather. I am sucking outside air through the hoods and into the vented crawl space.

I also recently put a fresh air in/out in my flower room wich also lowered temps by about 4-5 degrees, before this i was just leaving the door open with a fan. to further lower temps I moved my ballast running at around 120 degrees outside the flower room. seemed to help another degree or two, especially with the door closed.

I am using Fox Farm Ocean forrest and the complete FF nute package. nutes every other h2o and ph ing my h20 at about 6-6.5 with litmus drops. soon to get a digi meter but seems to be close enough for the girls. Also forgot running veg room 20-4 and flower 12-12. also lots of love, everyday.

Now for the girls. My caregiver (in march 10 high times) brought me 2 White widow, one Trinity, and three Pineapple Punch. All Clones. Only the Trinity was rooted in some sort of cube. The others were straight up dipped and stuck in soil for me. I lost all three PP due to high heat the first night in their new home, direct light i think also fried them. so sad. one almost made it. anyways the trin took right off and is now in it's first week flower and showing small buds after 8 days. The WW were slower to root and one was about 5 days behind the other, now both doing beautiful and even took a clone from the older of the two which i am happy to report is doing just fine. A friend of mine gave me a TrainWreck clone (hopefully TW, they had some difficulties keeping them in order and it could be just about anything :) )

That makes five.

Legal limit in MT = 6

Enter random bag seed. possible 6 yr. old seed from a grower friend i had in high school. hippy strain his parents passed down. we nicknamed it G spot. I dub this seed wanna-g. usually i germ in paper towels, this time i was just so sad over the PP that I just stuffed it in the dead ones site and h2o. 5 days later i was very i was excited to see a little one pop up. now this one is kinda cool, it has been growing just fine except for a nasty N burn i gave her (Hopefully) during the first two weeks. It is pretty stalky at 4 weeks. Ten inches, 9 leaf sets and has it's first fully developed leaves, i think. I think it's a girl, will need a little more time to tell. The interesting thing with this one is that on its fully dev. leaves, there are 9 "leaves" and then it has another "leaf" coming out on top of the original leaf. Now that is an odd description but see the photo (more to come as well) Now i am hoping that this is kinda rare and will allow me, or do I mean you, to identify it easily or at least narrow it down. It is pretty cool though as i have never seen a leaf like this. Now i am not a seasoned vet but have seen a fair share. wow enough talky talky now some pics. and I might do this in a couple posts to show the progression of my room. also i anyone can tell me how to post a pic in the text in the middle of a sentence that would be awesome. please come back and check in! thanks

#1 Begin the lst on the Trin since it is going soo much faster than the others, a nice time to experiment :)
#2The Room, Hidden sliding door in the back, Lumi up near the ceiling, and some primitive air ducting
#3 Almost got her to live. the first and only signs of life from any of the PP
#4 the Trin after 4 weeks, one week into flower.
#5 Moved the ballast outside of flower room, you see the unfinished door, needs smoothed and painted,
#6 the veg. 2 WW 1 TW the Wanna-G (WG) and 2 tomatos (Early Girls)
#7 The trainwreck. a fully rooted clone! Yay. Showing new growth after just a couple days, sine been repotted. luckily this model did not include spider mites
#8 wanna g after a week and a half or so.
yellow=edit bigskybud :)

Now a Question for all. In these two pics...
...a couple posts down has clear images of said leaves...
you will see my random bag seed, the Wanna-G. you will see on the right upper leaf right at the point where all the other blades come from there is a lone baby blade on top of the original leaf. on the tiny leave that has not quite matured i see 2 or three baby blades coming up from this spot. Has anyone seen this and perhaps know which strains show these traits?? thank you all happy reading and more clearer updated pics to come later today of the current state of the garden.
P.S. figured out the pic thing. and thanks Barron for the read not only 5 min after I started it. Good encouragement. and thanks for subn.
also I'm new to fourms and growing so any advise would be good

Fast foreward say two weeks or so...bongsmilie everything seems to be going great. the trin has been getting open seseame a week before flower up untill now, just showing buds.

if anyone could please help advise the proper time to swith from open seseame to beastie budz?? thnx

did a little more training and really opened up to canopy on the bush :)

The WW doing good. the first "older" has gotton lst treatment and also a couple clones taken from her while the second, "Younger", is growning naturally. really short and bushy and appears to have multiple tops naturally.

Finally the bag seed, wanna-g. I managed to figure out the camera and get clear close-ups. check the new leaf coming out of the center of the big leaf on the right and also the two coming out of the center of the tine new leaf on the bottom of picture. Weird! Ideas?? also finally the lower branches on the wanna-g are really droopy and wilted looking even though the rest of the plant seems rather healthy to me.. is it just not enough light due to the large fan leaves?? the short denseness working against me? or is it just a 6 y/o bag seed?? thanks and have a great weekend all

killer...scribed, I have been running some Trin in my last couple runs, and have a Mom of her going, almost lost her, but hope to run her in the summer. Not the greatest producer, but you can't beat her for flavor, and skunky nose, and her buzz is pretty soaring...definitely a favorite of my crew. She is the very first to disappear, definitely stash weed.
Peace bro, and good luck, will be watching. Nugs

here are a few pics of my Trin.

Hey Nugs thanks for stoppin by with the pics. Looks dank as you say. Props. I'm sure I'll look through your gardens and learn much. I'm glad to hear she is a good head stash strain. May have to take a cutting or i'm sure I can get more later. BTW do you recall how long she flowered before you cut her down?? and also if you say nine weeks does that mean nine weeks since the lights changed or since the first signs of bud development? Thanks

I love curling :bigjoint:

the only info i could find on trinity is that its mostly indica and finishes flowering around 9 weeks. thats nine weeks after you start the 12/12.

follow the feeding chart. its says two weeks of open then two weeks of beasties then 4 weeks of cha ching. if the strain grows longer then 8-9 weeks then continue the week 8 feeding schedule till harvest.

MTMJ, the Trin indo was one of my earliest strains, she came in at only 53 days...
7 1/2 weeks, outdo she was a bit longer 8-9. I will be able to see if we have similar strains during your grow. say bro, are you pinching your girls, or are the clones just bushing out like that, whatever....the look great, just be careful with those nutes you are throwing at em, error on the weak side, esp the Trin, mine is really nute sensitive, and I am all Organic. Keep up the good work brother. Peace, Nugs

Thanks Nugs I've been very easy on the Grow big as i burnt the shit out of my wanna-g early on and have found the FFOF is pretty hot. Also read your journals last night and read about your trin finishing first. damn they looked good though.
As for the WW clones, the youngeris growing all natural from clone. very stubby and bushy and fairly delicate it seems. had no problems but the stems are just kinda dainty even though i have air moving at all times. The other clone (older) has just been Getting trained. Been taking the top and tying her down so that all the growing tips are about even height. The same went for the trin. No cutting yet. I think as soon as I get a few more developed leaves on the wanna-g from seed I will top her. I just want some better pics of those weird leaves when they mature B4 i top that one.
BSBTHC - Check post #4 I believe. Edit in yellow.

So I was in my flowering room medicating, making use of the newely positioned exaust fan, and bam! It hit me  one of my inline fans cooling my lights was not even plugged in! meaning that one fan was doing just as much cooling as when both are running.

So what I ended up doing was creating seperate cooling systems for each light rather than running them inline. This did a couple things for me. It reduced the amount of ducting needed and in turn reduced how far the air had to travel and also made my tubing straighter, reducing many bends. that in turn makes each fan much more effieient sine less bends + shorter path = less resistance. also by venting the air directly after the hood it reduces a "radiating" effect of the hot air in the tubes on my ambient air in the room. Finally, by using fresh outside air to begin each system with I get better effieiency. what I mean is that in my original set-up I was cooling light #1 with 40 degree fast moving air and cooling light #2 with 90 degree slow moving air. Now with the new design each light is cooled with 40 degree faster moving air . also having each fan before the light allows the fan to operate at cooler temps.

So that was yesterday. I was sitting about 83 in my room with the door open six inches. this morning the lights came on at seven, the door was shut, I slept in cause it was dark inmy room and at ten this moring the closed room was at 74!!! omg! what a difference! additional benifits. light from veg room does not get into flower room through the lights ducting. it was like fiber-optics and seemed like low moonlight.

very exciting! I got some good pics of the Mystery leafs. the next leaf set each have one of these blades growing. Ideas Anyone as to the genetics of this one??

The tomatoes have started flowering as well, just under four weeks from seed. the first flowers opened up today!

and of course the Trin is coming along just fine. starting beastie bloomz next watering. BUDS EVERYWHERE!!!

oh and finally the wanna-g has got a little pruning and slight training and those lower branches started to recieve good light. They have really perked up since and look very healthy

Looks good MTMJ! good to hear the venting change made such a difference. The girls will love ya for it. I think that leaf is just a result of genetics, nothing to worry about. Looks pretty neat if you ask me. The way the top leafs are twisting when there young is something I've seen other indicas do. She'll probably be a quick finisher.

Everyone is coming along nicely. The Trin is getting Beastie Buds now :) hopefully it works as the name implies. They buds are shaping up ok, they just need more time, starting to get lots of hairs now. EXCITING!! The trainwreck is starting to grow pretty good now. The WWs are both doing good, hope to see lil buds on the younger by the end of the weekend. They wanna-g got FIM ed yesterday, my first fim, but i'm pretty sure I did it correctly, should see 4 shoots coming up in a couple days. She was getting a little tall and the crazy leaves stopped coming. the final set each had an extra blade coming out and the next two sets were both normal fan leaves so I decided she was done with that and Fimed her. I am pretty sure it's a HER now, seeing some small sex parts and they look female to me, a couple days and i'll know for sure. The Tomatoes both have Flowers opening up. they are getting open seseame now and tiger bloom once I start seeing tomatoes forming. won't be long now. Also I hope to see some roots coming out of my wanna-g clone by the close of the weekend. Updates Monday Have a nice weekend

CPH - Seems very indica, nice wide fan leaves, short. Very interesting about the wirery young leaves. I'm thinking a couple of the ones with extra blades will go in the leaf press soon. :)

#1 Tomatoe plant (4.5 weeks)
#2 Trinity (3rd week flower)
#3 Trinity (side view)
#4 WW 1 (1st week flower)
