as i understand it aquaponics uses only the fishes waste as the nutrients for the plants. there is no additional nutrients added to the water. fish feed that is not consumed will also add nutrients to the water as most fish feed is made with fish meal and kelp.

yes but im sure you can add to it before the plants by auto feeder and then filter after plants to recirculate back in if additional additives are needed.. will this be functional? can they grow well on this?

do a search for aquaponics, theres a thread about this already there is a huge aquaponics farm picture that raises coi fish and alot of veggies.
