Looks like we're on about the same path, about the same time. bongsmilie

I'm glad I can do the DIY thing but, I dream of one of those plug-n-play setups. One of these days, man, one of these days!

2005 NEC Update

Article 410.73 (F) (5) requires luminaires that use MH lamps to have either a containment barrier (lens) or an ANSI type O-rated lamp and socket. This does not apply to open luminaires with thick glass such as PAR lamps. In the past 400 watt MH S-rated lamps were allowed to be installed without a containment barrier or shrouded arc tube. Under the 2005 NEC code this will no longer be allowed.

Since not all states will immediately adopt the 2005 NEC, e-conolight will continue to offer products with S-rated lamps. Existing installations that use S-rated lamps will continue to be allowed, even in municipalities that adopt the 2005 NEC code.

Article 410.4 (E) states that MV or MH luminaires in playing or spectator areas of indoor sports, mixed use and all-purpose facilities, which are subject to physical damage, must be a type that protect the lamp with a glass or plastic lens. Some e-conolight fixtures are available with enclosures to meet this requirement.

If you have questions about the requirements for your area, contact your local inspector. When you know what your needs are, contact us. Our Customer Service Representatives will assist you in selecting the product that best fits your project.

So, I think i read somewhere that the ballasts used on these particular lights isnt very good. Something about it actually using more electricity than necessary to run the light. Have you seen any talk about this?

I honestly pick and chose what I take from these forums most of the people here have very little or no experience at all and are not licensed electricians I doubt this light is pulling over 150 watts but I really dont know so I cant say.... its working for me I know that for sure and it was $20 bucks the cheapest one I saw besides this one was on htgsupply and it was like $65 and there hood options were all the wrong sizes for my very small grow space

I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment, too. I guess I meant it'd be nice to have the disposable bucks for a plug-n-play but, knowing myself, I'd probably be modifying it right away. LOL

Are you an electrician, DB?

no problem bro...you might wanna pick up a few 6500k spectrum bulbs for flowering as they are supposed to be best for that period. they got the 3-pack at lowe's for 8 bucks. once you flower switch back to the warms or a mix! im thinking of putting my 65w soft white (dont know exact spectrum) with 2 daylight 6500k. if this isnt enough for 2-3 plants ill put in 2 more warm ones.
6500K is used for vegging and 2700K is for flowering. You can mix the light spectrum, but most people say to have more 6500K light for vegging.

DONT CHOP IT... Wait until you are positive. The balls wont open immediately. I really hardly see a concern for whether or not it is MALE or FEMALE. I mean, yer talking very miniscule things right now. Do not even think of chopping that plant yet mister!
