First white hairs = Week 1?

I remember reading somewhere that you should base your timeline for flower on when you see the first hairs. Is that right?

Just started flower 6 days ago and I'm already seeing quite a few. Thought I'd be waiting at least a week or two.

I usually increase my dark hours by any hour or two every few weeks until i see hairs than switch to 12/12.... increasing the dark hours helps me catch males sooner and I don't have much grow space so no need for 5 and 6 foot plants

On this forum we call the first day of flowering the day you switch the lights to 12/12. Usually I see the pistils, the white hairs, appear around week 2-3 of 12/12.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Thanks for the feedback guys. As a note, I realized that I switched to the 12/12 on 7/8, not 7/15 like I had thought so this actually seems like it's going along just fine.

Here are some pics I took today. I just got this LED light. I've been reading that a lot of people are opting for DIY COB setups now, but I didn't have the time to learn how to do it so I had to go for something else I knew was at least better than the CFLs I've used so far. The discolored leaves are actually ones that grew into the damn things before I could get something else. Also went ahead and put the wire supports up to help if it gets heavy.

Any other advise or tips? Is now when I should focus on giving it a good amount of nutes?
[I attached large and small copies because I know some people have shit internet but details can matter haha.]

It's hard to see the plants under blurples, you'll have to post regular pics to get accurate advice & tips. Best of luck :)

Indoors the schedule is usually dictated by light change to 12/12. Outdoors you notice a distinct stretching that usually precedes pistil development at all nodes. Sometimes you get pistil formation a few days after stretching starts, sometimes it can be 10+ days, strain dependent.
