First try at cloning

After a number of succesful grows under my belt, I'm striving to become a more advanced grower. Currently I'm working on first perpetual grow. I was still on the fence about how much time, money , and effort I was willing to invest. I have decided to go all in and grow as much as space will allow and start a perpetual. Now I'm thinking that if I have seperate area for vegging, I should try cloning. These 2 cuttings are from my Violator Kush. I soaked the tips in water for about 24 hours before I put them in cowpots with a mix of Light Warrior and Ocean Forrest. I moistened the soil with a drop of Voodoo Juice and Superthrive in the water. I used some Shultz's take root before putting them in the soil. Is there anything I need to know to get this right or am I doing okay so far? How do they look?

No more 'voodoo juice' 'superthrive' or any other nutes while cloning, just water. Get a heat a mat for faster root development.

Yeah I wasn't going to add any more. I don't have a heat mat but the clones are hanging out in the wife's office which is kept rather warm. Thank you very much for the advice

Also,....idk if you're using a humidity dome, or not, but it'd be a good idea. Humidity is important at this stage, because there are no roots to take in water. Most of it must be absorbed through the foliage.

Honestly, I went by this thread...https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-centr...marijuana.html. All I have for this is what you see. I just bought the rooting powder and put them in soil to be on the safe side. I've watched a thousand videos and read about even more cloning styles. This seemed to be the easiest and least technical. After seeing someone put a clone in just water and establish roots, I didn't think I'd need too much. I appreciate all the answers.

;) I clone a pheno that popped out if my blueberry x sugar haze cross, I could only get a tiny 1 1/2 inch growth from the bottom due to all budded I call this pheno Blush it was dark green with pink pistals and so tricomed I did not want to cut the leafs. The clone took and now she is a beauty! 000_0069.jpgmama, 000_0022a.jpgmy 1 1/2 inche clone of my blush no topping at all.

way to go gopher like what was mentioned above you should get a humidity dome if your planning on doin a perputual you should invest in actual cloneing domes and 1" trays or rockwool for cloneing depending on how many your goin to grow doin smaller clones is prob more sucsessfull cutting fan leafs in half so theres not to much weight trying to fold over your clone i like useing 1" cube trays thus giving me 72 cuttings per tray

Thanks for the help Doc. I know I have alot more to learn about this. Like everything else with growing, this is another trial and error scenario. Seems the best way for me to learn anything related to growing is to fail first.

Being that this is my first attempt, I could use an expert opinon. After roughly 72 hours do these look okay? They seem nice and healthy to me but I have no idea if they're doing as well I think. Any help of course will be greatly appreciated. These are pics I took today.

question: ive never cloned but plan on doing it to my nirvana wonder woman I am growing now... And is heating pad necessary if I'm cloning in a 3 gal bucket with a bubbler and rapid rooters? Or what temp would the water need to be ? Like 80 ? I don't mean to ask questions on your thread bro but I just wanna know before I rig it up ....

Or could I just put clones in rapid rooter tray in rr with dome and water in the tray? Would I need a bubbler ? It's hard to fit one in there

if you dont have a dome (wich is like $10 ) spray them often with water and light nutes 1/4 strength in the spray for about 5 to 10 days.

Next time, I'd get a humidity dome and some rockwool, or ever some rapid rooters. Just going to take a while the way your doing it. I like big clones but I take a lot of the foilage off, and what leafs do remain I clip the tips, it really has helped me get roots quicker. Its not too late, if I were you I'd take those bottom fan leafs off. We want energy going into rooting, this is the only time I recommend clipping leafs in any stage of life, for some reason really helps.
