I've built a sterilite 30 gallon tub using 3-4 100w CFLs and 1 LED light bar...ive I got one plant of og that just sprouted...any good advice for me out there???

Soil and an organic mix with worm castings... But... I just got a new tent today!!!2' x 2' x 3' and now I have to go get some more cfls for it... but the six lights I have in there now have it pretty warm in there!!! I'm going to have to get a bigger fan for this one...

Dont get cfl bulbs, get the Cree, Phillips, or Sylvania led bulbs. 8.5w or better. You wont be sorry.

if u put them closer will work better and penetration
one of the passes that i have is like 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 the one with the cob its small
they work better in small place

So with LEDs you aim them straight on? I would need to mount them on to something then,right?

Yes small spaces. Thats about 4 square feet. Adding 3000k leds for flower and the T5 goes on after the stretch.

they work pretty good to veg or flower depends on how many u use and the light k 2700k 3000k 5000k
in this one i have 2 5000k and 9 3000k 8 are cob
but screw in

The 14W Philips are 100W equivalent where the 9W ones are 60W. The 14W are way more expensive too.

A few months back there was a promotion of LED bulbs so I bought 24 - 5000K and 12 - 2700K for a buck each. Finally built me an LED light out of some vanity fixtures I bought years ago at a thrift store. A 3 bulb one in the middle with 4 bulb ones on each side of that all bolted together so each bulb is on 6" centers. Stuck a big 85W, 5000K CFL bulb in the center socket and draped tinfoil over the whole thing to trap the light in around the plants, Vegs really good so far.

The LED bulbs are 9W and it's easy to pop the globes off with a flat bladed screw driver.

Man I love it. Just as much as the main flower room.

That is awesome!
I have a question about the wiring, though... are those all wired into one heavy duty cord? Does this setup need a ballast? I'm a little confused about the wiring aspect and don't want to burn down my house lol.
