First timer. :']

So this is my first go around at this thing. :) I started maybe about 2 weeks ago an d im already worried im doing something wrong. My 1st plant germination whittled away to nothing; my second plant I believe is doing well but I'll let you guys & gals be the judge of that.

So heres the list of kind what i do for the little guy/gal i dont know yet.

Watering; i take a little jello cup and pour water into my hand and kinda shake it around the plant maybe about 3-4 times a week.

I used new potting soil from miracle grow - the moisture control one

brand new pot

for lighting im using the regular florescent light bulb with a reflector around it. stays on 24/7

i put in when i first got the soil some moisture/fertilizer stuff that said on the package last 3 months.

I have a ceiling fan going 24/7 no humidity control or anything nothing fancy.

So at this point; im think it'll survive. but whether or not its going to be any good i'm lost. direct me in the right direction please & thank you for all your help in advance !

Make sure you water it till the water comes out the bottom of the pot, get some cfls and a grow lamp, keep the cfls about 2 inches away and the grow lamp up some cause it gets hot, get a fan blowing on it, ceiling fan dont really cut it. MG potting soil is good, but no nutes are needed for quite some time. Take a look at a few threads on here, check out other new growers threads its a big help, I would get some stryofoam and build a little cage for it and keep them lights on it and keep it watered you should be growing.

I actually am using CLFS just one; what about the lighting schedule do you think it should differ from the 24/7 i see some people on here doing 12/12 ?

I'm still worried about the actual plant base. Do you think its still looks sturdy enough for it; when the ceiling fan is on high the plants sways like crazy ?

should be fine, the swaying helps build up the stem
if needed you could hold it in place using a shishkabob skewer and some wire

somethings wrong !!! When i went into the room today i noticed this ! its lean over and has 3 small whiteish/grayish dots on one of the leaves ! is this plant dying a slow death i feel as if i have already failed ! help me !

So its looking much better; not to much growth though. I have some reef MH lights on the spec 14k 250 watters do you think I should move up and start using them now ? I'll post some pics in a bit. :)

Bury the plant to her first set of leaves. I don't think you need to worry too much at the light cycle, but invest in a cheap timer from lowes and when she grtows a bit, stick under an 18/6 light schedule to veg and grow a bit

so i didn't bury it to the first leaves yet; but im sure im going to now. So this is an update of her/< hopefully ! Her leaves tips are looking a bit yellowish/brown and im a little worried any idea whats wrong ? Other than that shes looking good i think :)

* Sorry for the bad cell pic. :leaf:

anyone have any ideas why the leaves are this color ? I changed the lighting today to two 100 watt clf lights on has a temp color of 6500k and the other is unkown was this a good choice ?

So today I added another light. So in total I have 2 x 100 watt 6500k lights & 1 soft white 100 watt light all are CFLS & have an fan blowing in the room. Should I be doing anything different at this point ? It's still on a 24hr light schedule.

i so excited look at the new pics ! that one leaf is still looking the same though.

Google "Plant Problems" It looks like a def. in something, but the MG soil could be the cause...Come on roll it up! help the guy out lol

they look a lot better i can tell you that much! Im a newbie too but all i can tell you is light light light!! I am using a 150 watt hps and i keep it about 4 inches away with a fan blowing on it at all times! You are using cfls so i would say two inches should do you good as long as you have a fan circulating air! I agree also that a ceiling fan wont cut it. Sounds like you are foiler feeding and i dont have any experience with that so i cant give you any tips. I can tell you over feeding will kill the plant quicker than anything. When watering you can put as much water as you like as long as there is good drainage at the bottom! Let your babies have it! Just wondering how long you have been in veg and what strains you have! I have learned fast that different strains grow completely different!

thanks for the comments ! I actually today just switched to a 250 watt MH light with a Phoenix 14k bulb. I have a new fan on it and the ceiling fan too. I haven't been feeding it anything I usually spray it with just water and water maybe 2-3 times a weeks. I think the MG soil is not the best drainage so I worried about that do you think I should maybe replant in some different soil ?

it definitely wouldnt hurt at all! Everyone around here says fox farm and happy frog are really good soils! I didnt want to buy any off of the internet so i went with an all natural organic soil (schults). I didnt like the idea of my plants getting nutes when i had no idea how much or when. My plants are way younger than yours but they seem to be doing fine in it! I dont know if you are going all organic or not but if not i would suggest some nutes for sure! I cant really recommend on nutes for you because this is my first grow and im using regular nutes from the local garden store! I havent gotten too far to see how the nutes work to full potential but i did use them when my first true leaves appeared! I didnt use it fully, i cut it down to about 1/16th it recommended! Funny thing is i am using MG nutes!! reg miracle grow for veg which has a NPK of 24-8-16 and MG bloom booster which has an NPK of 15-30-15!!! so far so good though! I will let you know how it goes! good luck! oh and here are some pics of my plants! they are White Widow and The Church from greenhouse seeds. I am 9 days in now!
