So I'm very new to growing marijuana, i was wondering whats a good seed to start with? i dont want to spend 50 dollars on white widow seeds and not have them grow. and i don't have the budget to afford any high tech growing stuff. i only want to try to grow one or two plants at the most just for my use, because i cant risk buying from people anymore. Can anyone give me a list of items that i can find at a home depot, or Menards? I have read a ton about how to grow marijuana in these forums so i know the basic of growing. I just need to know what to buy.

First you have to decide what type of grow you are going to do. Soil? Hydro? Hempy? DWC? Airponics? Bubbleponics? Flood & Drain? The list goes on and on. Once you decide what type of grow you want to do, you can make a list of what you need. Growing in closet, basement, spare room, attic, tent or wardrobe? This job is won in the planning phase. In a perfect world you need to control temps, humidity, light and nutrition. As for seeds, pick a nice Indica with a short flowering cycle (8 weeks). Those are harder to kill by accident in my opinion.

If you want to grow cheap, try this.Get a couple of 2 or 3 gallon pots and fill with compost.Germ your seeds and seat them about a inch to a inch and a half in the soil. Two shop lights with t5 bulbs should do nicely.I`v had alot of problems using potting soil so I mainly use compost now. After they start gettin big then you can use some different ferts and bloom inhansers. That`s about as easy as it can get.You can try different things but the basics are still there..Good Luck on Your Grow!Stay Happy,Healthy, and High........P.S . After they come up,You can use a small fan on them to stinthen the stems..OK I`m done now..

lights really depends on your budget. I would try to go with an 8 tube system (2' will probably be good for 2 plants, but 4' is more efficient if you can use the space). If you can't afford it, go with as many as you can afford. T5 is better than T12, if you can afford it.

Far as seeds, take a look at sannie's (google sannies seeds). He has competitive genetics, great prices, direct breeder access, and he can also recommend which of his strains will fit your desires and conditions best.

If there's anything that's absolutely critical to growing nice buds, it's sufficient lighting. I can't stress that enough. I strongly suggest you don't skimp there, or you're efforts will be wasted. You can do well with just about any type of soil, or nutes, but not lighting. You can buy a good 400 HPS for $150 from HTG Supply, which is WELL worth the investment, even if you have to rob a bank, to come up with that money.lol That's for flowering. Veg isn't so critical. You can use those T12s with good results, as long as you don't veg them much taller than 12". They'll end up well over 2' tall if you flower them at that heigth, which is all the taller you want to go, using 400 watts in flowering. Any more than that, is wasted space.
