First Timer, everyone loves PICS

im about to enter my 8th week of veg, first 2 were cfl's and then introduced (2) 150w hps lights

kept lights on 24/0 for first month and have since switched to an 18/6 regimen

Just looking for comments/advice as i am a FIRST TIMER, haven't used any nutes as i made the mistake of planting in MG soil and they got burned every watering for the first month or so, possibly why growth seems stunted mildly

No ph testing done, just filtered water from the freezer left to sit til it reaches room temp

Im aware that without having even induced flowering to ask is a shot in the dark at best, but would i be correct to assume in the realm of 2oz per female (i think i only have 2, possibly 3 just judging from the growth, i feel like i can spot male characterisitcs a mile away)

Also the temps stay in the low-mid 80's and drop to 72 at night

the 4th pic is the one i coined "13" after the girl on HOUSE lol, but i think she may be a he, so ill leave that up for debate (ps he/shes about 3 weeks younger than the rest)

and maybe im in over my head being out of newbie central but i can never get anything out of those guys, so SHOW ME SOME LOVE RIU og's

Good old fashioned bagseed surprise...i just got back from the beach and they were drooping severely so i figured id give them a week or so to get back to 100%

sometime in the next 14 days ill be switching them to flower, the 2 best looking ones (middle) are about 17" tall, i have about 42-45" of grow space (5 feet but i have to hang the lights from that point)

Im hesitant to nute them as they are in MG soil thats supposed to be supplying for 2 months and im almost through that, ive flushed about once a week to try and facilitate getting the nutes out and there has been mild nute burn (just verrrry tip of leaves yellow) each time i did that

Any advice is welcome on all fronts

(thanks for the guesstimate scwa!)

Not sure if you're aware, but your plants will likely double or triple in size when flowering is induced. Depending on how many females you end up with, you're going to need more light. You could probably get by with what you have if you only end up with 1-2 girls.

yes in hindsight i shouldve just sprung for a 400 watter but i was worried about heat and with good reason, ducting AC air is impossible in my situation and keeping the heat from (2) 150's down has been a formidable task in itself so maybe it was a blessing in disguise

b4 i planted i read 2k lumens/sq ft bare minimum(veg), recommended 3k, and preferably 4k< for flowering, im looking at about 32000 lumens and ive got 8 sqft of space so i planted as much as the space allowed, without going SOG and trying to throw 20 solo cups in there or something, i figured at most id have 4 girls and i dont think ill even be that lucky
I might pass these lights along to a friend and upgrade for next grow

So if im lookin at roughly 1.5' rt now i guess it would be advisable to induce flowering so i dont run out of vertical space?? its my first grow so i can only imagine what im in for when the flowering begins, cant wait.

It would be ideal to wait until they're healthier to induce flowering like you want, but yeah, I'd be concerned about vertical space. You might even consider tying them down a bit when they start to really stretch. Really depends on how things go.

ive read a ton and continue to learn even more by just observing, cant wait to see this explosion of flower growth with my own eyes, my first attempt im just trying to stay in between the lines i dont care how fast i go (soto speak) so i appreciate any and all advice

but maybe like another couple of days to a week and then induce flowering, anything i should prepare myself for before i do that as well, should i look into maybe some type of bloom solution, i hear great things about fox farms, do they make products for soil? Also will my watering schedule vary from what it is now in veg? ive learned that going with what feels right tends to work best but it would be nice to have some expectations before i start flopping like a fish with a plant just getting ready to enter adulthood

I can vouch for Foxfarm ferts, and yes, they make nutes for soil. Let your plants tell you when to water. Wait until the top half inch of soil dries out a bit between waterings. Don't go by arbitrary schedules unless you've observed a predictable pattern, but by that point it's no longer arbitrary.

well stated sir, im about to leave the pc for the night but i thank you greatly for your contribution to my newfound love, recommend any one in particular, im not sure how they work, tiger bloom and big bloom, whats the difference, and isn't the grow big solution for vegging? thanks again

I pretty much stick to the schedule. It's a little different for soil, though(I use hydro). Here's the soil chart:

You should only need Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom, but they do recommend Grow Big for two weeks. If you have the means, great, it's not a huge deal if you omit it.

You're really gonna want to look at moving air in and out of that room. Stagnant air will slow your growth tremendously, more so during flowering. Obviously, this will help your heat situation as well

ive got (2) 4" fans exhausting out the top

obviously i dont leave the front open like that but i dont have any pictures of just the tent zipped up rt now

i keep the green fan blowing air in under the plants 24/7 and simply put a towel around the area any light creeps in, its pretty effin dark.....

Ducting air isn't really an option, i know lower temperatures would be ideal but it wont be the end of the world (i hope)

btw, on a side note, there really isn't much of an odor at this point, i imagine it picks up with flowering but is that normal

i mean if i touch the stems or mess with the plants at all the smell on my hands is pungent but even when given a gentle shake there is not a significant odor (like someone smelled like marijuana in the house or something, present but not assertive)

My ladies are almost two weeks into flowering and they still don't smell all that much. They should really start smelling nice any week now.

Gotcha, idk how bad its gonna get, maybe me being such a novice comes with being naive but i cant wait for them to stink to high heaven, i have no real intentions of odor control as there's no smell i love more in the whole world than good bud, especially when no one else has had their nasty mitts on it and its allll miiiine, sometimes i sit in the opening and read my HT while basking in the light with my kids....i can only hope to be so lucky as to have them smell horendous and be forced to get air fresheners....kinda like your kid being too smart or something, cant happen

Any ideas anyone as to whats goin on with this little guy, i think its a male and suspected it first in the batch several weeks ago as it had a much longer internode length than all the others and was getting taller mucchh faster than the rest

it has been outside (approx 13-14 hrs of light) for the last 4 days, just to see how the sun works as opposed to my lights

but anyways i took a trip and came back, all but 1 plant was withered and droopy but after some TLC and about 2 days they sprung back as what you see in the previous pics

this guy on the other hand had an extra day w/o h2o cause i thought i might just let him die, but i brought him back, and he just looked "retarded", middle leaves curled downward, upper leaves severely cupped (outside ridges touching each other), one fan leaf was entirely yellow with about the outer half drooping lifelessly

all this garbage...is what landed him outside, just looking for clues as to what may have happened so it doesn't happen in the future to a baby girl

(leaves also have a glossy appearance now as opposed to a dull green even when it was healthy)

It looks overfed(moist soil, droopy leaves). Also, bringing indoor plants outside is quite a shock. Experienced growers harden them off by only putting them outside for a few hours each day. The glossiness on the leaves is the plant's way of protecting itself from the harsher outside elements. Your plant doesn't look like it enjoys being in direct sunlight for extended periods either. Maybe put it in the shade in the late afternoon hours. Lastly, keep your fingers crossed. It might be a girl afterall. This is just me, but I don't put much stock in judging sex by node spacing and height.

it had all but the glossy look before i took it outside (what u said makes sense tho!), but it was like limp leaves hung over a skeleton of branches and then when i watered it (which it undoubtedly needed) i gave it the same 400mL that i gave it when it appeared healthy, when it came back to life tho it had this general apperance except individual blades on 1 leaf were doing opposite things, it was truly wild, ive done a few things wrong so far and righted them but it just looked f*d, its only in direct sunlight for maybe 8 hours, 10 at very most, its just "light" outside for hours extending before and after that direct period
