What it do my peeps, 1st post.
First off thnx everyone for the info provided here, w/out your input and encouragement my first grow would have been a complete ass raping of some killer genetics.
Anyways I am working with the g13xhaze and the Kc mango. Under 400 watt hps in 5 gallon pots containg black gold vermeculite and ferting w/Budswell solution. The G is 4 wks into flower and the mango 3. They both have flowers but a friend from OC california who has exp in these things told me to twist the stems to promote branching below the twist. Well now below the twist I have 6 inch stems with lil tufts of bud at top and sparse few haired sites down the stem. And I mean sparse. Its like the plant is using its energy to make more stem instead of flower. Am I right and that advice pooched my yield. The tops look lovely and they're starting to smell so friggin beautiful. I just wanna improve the yeid under the twisted stalk.
I got 4 to 6 more weeks of flower.
Also at harvest can I just prune all the bud of and flip it back to veg and than flower again in a month or so? So I can get some clones and keep these girls.
Thanx guys and girls
stay up
Yo friend indeed
Ed

Zyrus, how tall are your plants? If they are like four feet tall and the bottoms of the plants are 5 feet from the light then there's not much you can do to get fat buds from the bottom. I believe the ideal canopy depth for a 400 watt is around two feet. Meaning the optimum light is to be had in an area that begins about ten inches from the bulb and extends downward two feet. Any buds below that 2 ft mark won't be getting much light. I just remove these budsites so the ones within the happy zone get all the energy supplies.

Thanx for the quick response my friend.
The g-13 is 22 inches and the mango is 16 inches
cutting off the bottoms wont hurt her?

I know my pics are poo(using my blackberry no digi cam)
but the long stems at the bottom, once they reach the sweet spot
in the light, would they than start budding more?
cause thats what the bottoms are doing....stretching

In my personal experience removing the bottom branches makes the upper buds a lot fatter. BUT my grow situation is a bit different from yours. I pack as many plants as will fit under my lights. The lower parts of my plants and pots are in the complete darkness of shade. I think since your plants have plenty of space to grow and no light obstructions it might be worth it to keep most of the bottoms there. Maybe remove only the very bottom most ones that are only a couple pistils. But the plant itself looks great. That should be a massive cola when you are done.
