First time shroom grow

Ok i went out and collected some dry patties from field. This is legit cow dung. I got about 12gallons. Is there something I can start doing to get it ready?
Go ahead and Crush it up, then lay it out in the sun for a week or so, you can go ahead and chop your straw too, and add your vermiculite, but store it in a black trash bag in a DRY area, this is the perfect medium for fungus/mold to grow in and any slight moisture will allow them to start, so make sure that everything that goes into your storage bag is bone dry.

See, stealing cow shit isnt that bad, ehh? lol kinda degrading the first time, but after a harvest or two youll be skipping through the field with a black trashbag collecting your golden cowpies, laughing at everyone staring at you driving by.

Why cow poo? Thats the worst poo to use? Use horse poo. Cows piss when they shit. Get field dried horse/donkey poo. Your gonna put all this time and effort in growing fungi...why use the worst sub? I noticed on your jar lids you have self healing ports. I didnt see any FAE in your lids. Nothing will happen if they dont breath. I may have missed them. Have you looked into liquid cultures? Make one syringe into a gallon of inoculate? 68 is too cold. upper 70s for colonization and lower 70s for pinning and grow out. The temp change makes a huge difference. I put air stones in my tubs. The FAE is the key to a good harvest. You can devise a method to filter the air before the air stone. Ask anybody who has a lot of harvest under there belt and they will tell you to not use cow poo.

Lets see pics of your grows horse poo grows and we will compare them to my cow poo grows, horses arent a dual chambered animal, meaning a cow has 2-3 stomaches, thus giving the medium more of a work over/decomposure before hitting the ground. The cow also has one of the most powerful stomache acids, helping remove anything that will cause heat in the final decomposing, thus letting the poo decompose and be at a usuable stage faster, ever look at the two side by side? horse poo has undigested matter in it, to where cow poo is fully digested and a better canidate than horse poo. . and its not until after full coloniziation of the jars that they will start needing fresh air exchange, theres enough air in the jars to colonize them with miniumum risk of contaminiation.

I find it kind of odd that cow poo is the worst there is to use when thats what they grow in natuarally! Sure they grow SOMETIMES in horse poo in the wild, but only about 1/5 as much as in cow fields.
Have fun!

I appreciate your knowledge and do understand it may prove useful in some situations. I am allowing goodolboy to walk me though this as I know he can grow some serious mushrooms. This is my first grow and I will have plenty opportunities in the future to show goodolboy methods that work best for me. Thanks for stoppin by!

I will spread cow poop out and let it dry, this stuff was pretty solid as it was.

LOL! I just dont see why a beginner would like to use a tek that is harder than all the other poo teks. Heres a pic of a 77gramer that I grew, Got 7 flushes on one tub. The flush this came from averaged no less than 50 and went up to this monster at 77gr. The one with the lighter is just a lil guy. When they show me when they pin how big they are gonna be I let them drop spores so I can get a print of the big ones. Im not trying to step on your toes cow poo man. Yes they do grow in cow poo in the wild.....under perfect circumstances. Dont get your undies in a bunch, Im not trying to steal your thunder but this a public forum. Deal with others opinions and advice. Its not a pissing contest.

I really didnt mean to come off as a dick, earilier, but after re-reading my post, i was. Sorry for that. Alot of times i can be a hard ass when people question my methods, and im Not trying to start a pisssing contest either, It just kind of seemed like you were trashing my advice. No hard feelings?
In my experience, cowpoo and straw is the way to go, Aev asked for my help, so I only post what im 100% has worked mutliple times for me. Nice size shroom! Give me just a sec and ill post up some of my babies, not for comparison(or a pissing match) but we need to give Aev a idea of whats to come..

The middle and bottom row are all Puerto Rican Angels

The 3rd pic is Equadorian on the left and Tazmanian on the left, They were experiments on a 360 degree fruiting chamber. that one EQ shroom weighed around 50g and was solid, oddly enough the Taz yeilded about the same but a million little ones instead of one big one. I worked alot of strains the first year i researched P.Cubensis, but once i started with PRA it was all i worked on all the way up until i quit growing a few months back due to a change in my living situation that was unexpected.

DAY 5 - We lookin at mycelium here or what? Two of twelve jars show heavy colonization and about four other jars show light colonization. The water jar is also showing signs of myc developing. No jars are showing any signs of contamination.
