I’ve got 4 plants each in 100 gallon fabric pots. They’re just basic pots but I altered them to perform like they’re more famous cousin know for living soil fabric pots… I cut and sealed strips of tarp leaving 6 inches at the bottom for drainage, sewing it to the top and decided to add reflective mylar to the outside for cooling purposes cause why not. The soil is completely organic from the ground up- peat based with pumice, perlite, rice hulls, and porous clay pebbles for aeration. Amendments- kelp, alfalfa, karanja, neem, crab, fish bone, fish meal, insect frass, bat guano, oyster shell flour, malted barley, activated biochar, basalt, glacial rock dust, Azomite, greensand.
Composts include 5 for diversity- lobster and crab, soft wood with biochar, and 3 different brand worm castings. Topped dresses with alfalfa straw, rice hulls, and flushed coco with cover crop. I’ve got the hoses on a timer currently for 13 minutes every other day using 3/8 element soaker hose. I did add a couple extra feet of soaker hose to the middle pots to even out the watering because the outer containers where the water is fed seemed to receive more. I’ve including some pictures. Please any feedback would be appreciated.
