ugh im back, i know ive been asking a lot of questions
its too cold outside to start a new grow, so im doin my first indoor
ive been thinking about it alot and working out the kinks
i have a dresser, i took all the drawers out and put it on its end, its 26" wide, 20" deep, 40" tall
cabinet 005.JPGcabinet 004.JPGcabinet 002.JPGcabinet 003.JPG

I want to use a 150w light with a cool tube, the link is below.
http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=53025

I want to use P.C. fans for the cool tube, one sucking cool air in at one end, one sucking hot air out at the other.

Ventilation for the plants, for the cool air intake i was going to use a pc fan, and im not sure about the exhaust fan because i wanted to have a carbon filter, i would need a stronger fan to get the air through the filter. i was also thinking about using odor eliminating gels that ive heard good reports from

smell isnt a huge concern, just one/two plants max, in my own house. . the smell of smoking pot is noticeable when i step inside, so growing it wont be much worse i dont think. just more green.
and to power the computer fans, i was thinking about these here, theyll work right? 12v dc power adapters, http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=power+supply+with+4+molex&cid=14948577819983994020&ei=nKOWTMeMLJKCwQXcgM3ZDQ&sa=title&ved=0CAcQ8wIwADgA#p

i also need to get a thermostat/humidity, and timers are easy to take care of. let me know if i have too many fans, im missing anything, or am just doing it all plain wrong. i think im alright tho.... i appreciate all of the help

i planted my seeds (two of them, rare bagseeds from a fire nug batch) sep.29 in fox farm ocean forest, and they sprouted octbober 2 (extremely fast imo) i always plant them directly in soil and let them germinate there with good results everytime.
for nutes i want to use foxfarm liquids, right now i have them growing under two floro tube on 18/6 until i get this grow box built.

and what do you guys think about playing dubstep for my baby sprouts? could frequent blasts of Excision from my subwoofer do anything? i know this is controversial and some people think it works and some dont, but the only thing i could think it would help would be the vibrations of the sound and my subwoofer effecting the growth of roots and in turn the growth of the plant, idk im not expert, but i did quite well in high-school science.

I like the idea for the cabinet. Sounds like you did a lot of research. If you need to go to a larger fan bathroom fans work really well for those small areas and they're 4".

yea ive been thinking about it for a long time. i dont want really noisy fans thats the problem, its going to be where i sleep, not really a problem for by detected by noise or anything. just enough to be annoying.
oh ya, for a door im going to cut a piece of plywood the dimensions of the front, put it on some hinges, stick a padlock on there, also put somthing around the edges to try and keep it air/light proof as much as possible

i was going to use a carbon filter, but since im going to have one plant (two MAX), ive decided im not going to go through the cost and hassel of hooking one up to mask the smell. its not that big of a deal any ways, even if it does leak out my neighbors are cool and dont care.
i was going to use this stuff called Ona-Gel Pro i believe it was called, and another carbon based odor obsorber that works very well for my cats litter box, i can get it at my local grocery store for 10 bucks.

View attachment 1199372Ive got almost the same dimensions of cabinet, and have been playing with its setup for seems like forever. MAybe some day I'll have it complete. Anyhow, there's a 1000 words that may help.

Ive since gotten rid of the floros and clones. I removed the shelf and hang the DIY cooltube. The tube is open on the cabinet end to draw the heat out as well as across the light. Im using one ummmm 65mm pc fan for the light? Hell, I bought a case for $3ea, so long ago. I also run about 3 of the fans across the back of the unit, as exhaust. It would be a nightmare to filter mine, so i just run it in my larger filtered room. The light I use is a 100hps. I had 2, but one ballast was no good. Since this is for mothers only, the 100hps is more than enough to get me 8cuts off each a month. Hell, i may never install the second 100, how many damn clones a man need?

The temps of my cabinet stay about 2-5degress above outside temp. I run the light on an 18hr schedule. The moms are watered via 13gal res with one fill tube in the back. Im not sure what you exact question is, but perhaps Ive already figured out some of them? Anyhow, hope this helps a tad. Happy growing to ya!:leaf:

btw, u know i stopped bcuz u threatend rep. :-P

everything is awesome except i would use a solid colored Rubbermaid, man. Ive been told exposing roots to lights is a bad idea. besides that, i love what u did with the spacing.

The moms never get big enough for the roots to get out of the net pots by much. Im not a huge fan of the net pots....root matter breaks off, they dont pull out very easily at harvest, and they fall over. I use closed containers in everything else, because youre right...roots dont like light.

do you guys think 150w HPS is enough light to flower ONE plant. its not going to be a huge plant. even if both of these seeds are females (which i doubt they will be) i will probably root out the weaker one just for the sake of space (and genes i guess, seeds came from very good bud)

That metal support in the center is going to get cussed a lot during your grow, if it's not structural I'd try to remove it. Since you already have 1/2 the drawer slide on the bottom you might consider pulling the other half off the drawer and screwing them to a piece of plywood the size of the bottom. That would allow you to pull it out to work on it versus trying to get around behind it when it's big or having to remove it from the cab. Nice job! Looking good so far.

i was gonna get a hand saw and cut the middle support and one of the drawer slides out, and use the other drawer slides to hand the light from..

Cool, I meant turn the bottom into a sliding tray and hanging the light from the top ones sounds good. With a 150W light your plant is going to stretch somewhat that far from the light, you can raise the plants or lower the light initially. No big deal just something to think about as you build.

a 150 will work fine with one plant but like scrog said make sure you are real close to lite so she dont stretch so much

i would probably raise the plant with a wooden stool or a bucket or somthing like that, the light will be attached to a cool tube, kinda hard to move it around...

i cant wait for a paycheck lol
waiting on that to get this shit goin
meanwhile my seedlings are already sprouted and a week old and about 7" tall, theyre under floros. i put the sees in a small hole of dirt (foxfarm oceanforest) and added water and light and BAM theyre already this big. i owe to the way i sprout and germ them , right in the soil. i dont see why people go through the time/effort of germing them in a napkin and then planting them..

LEts see some pics bro. im going to sub to this one interested to see how this goes for you. I like your closet thingy perrrty clever. Good luck bro and i hope 150 is enough to flower one becasue i am planning pn flowering 8 with 400 watts. LOL probably going to end up getting some additional cfls or flouros. But your setup is legit. Do you plan on feeding them nutes?
