First time indoor grow (need advise on grow setup)

Hey guys what's up? I'm doing an indoor grow and I'm only looking to grow one or two plants because my indoor grow box isn't too big. And also I'm not sure if the light I have would be sufficient for more then one plant. So basically I'm just wanting someone to check out the grow box I've put together and the specs of my light and soil in hopes someone could drop some knowledge on me and point me in the right direction. Thanks and peace

Can you afford a cheap tent? I'm just worried about light leaks with that setup. Fox Farm soil is good stuff, but I don't like their chemical nutes. I started with FFOF, which I've since turned into no-till.

You could also use another light for that space if that's what you decide to use. That light says it's good for a 1.5x1.5 ft area, so I'd maybe add another.

Ive taped up all the corners and there isn't too much light getting out it's insanely bright inside. But tomorrow when I wake up I'm going to cover up the last of the little holes where lights is seeping out. Is that what you mean? The light getting out or light getting in? And also what light time setting would you suggest?

It doesn't matter if light goes out, but you don't want it going in during flower. If you want to keep it like that, I would have the lights on during the day to limit the amount of light accidentally entering during the dark cycle. I like my closet pitch black during lights off.

Do you think I should go ahead and double up and get one more light?

Ok I guess this is day one I germinated 2 seeds one being critical mass, and the other being Moby dick. They both popped open and I have put them into rapid roots. So hopefully in a few days I'll have two little sprouts to post pics of

I obviously don't plan on posting new pictures every single day of the grow but I wanted to show the growth in just one day to see if anyone can tell me if it's a good sign of what's to come ha and also can anyone help me out with the distance between the light and the plant ? Any advise would be much appreciated thank you IMG_20200412_200253136_HDR.jpgIMG_20200412_200242566_HDR.jpg

Went out and got a PH test kit and some citric acid. I was curious to what I should PH my water to? Right out of the tap it has a PH of 7.0 and I'm using half happy frog and half ocean Forrest soil. Also I got a humidity and temp reader and it's showing an average temp of 76 Fahrenheit and 46% humidity? Are these numbers good or bad?

I’m sure your going to get mix answers in regards to ph I usually aim between 6.3 to 6.5. in soil. Humidity could be higher in this seedling state just don’t exceed 70%.(possibly only run your fan 15 min at a time off on cycle) As plant matures your going to want to slowly bring that down to prevent mold. Mildew and bud rot! Wish you the best with your grow! Not sure about distance with LEDs sure someone else has got the scoop for ya!
Cheers

Thanks for the advise I found an extra timer so I put set it for the fan to go on and off all day also should I be putting the temp and humidity reader in any specific spot?

I usually have a few around the room. One bottom middle and top of room. If you have one I would place it at canopy level but feel free to experiment. Usually aim for 68-70 degrees lights off and no warmer then 77- 78 with lights on during veg

Do you have a pic of your setup? Cfl work great do you know the kelvin specs on bulb? A lot of variables on how successful your harvest is. What strain you running ? Seeds, autos clones ? Soil, hydro ? Should plan on stepping up lighting when flipping to 12/12

Take a look at my post I am running CFL I had to add more 100w on top of 60w that i had on them and they love the 100w i have seen sunblaster cfl lights that are more powerful 125w 150 and 200 maybe even a 300 I think I saw somewhere. My plants have loved the addition of the 100w bulbs (they lean towards them.)
