First time in a pot, I don't have a clue.

Not a newbie, but a newbie to growing in a pot, I've tried outdoor in soil a few times and each time it's been a poor result, like one excellent 5 gram bud. I thought I'd make use of the free photons that are always available in my indoor grow room. I'm just growing this for fun, I've seen pretty decent plants in a single cup, so I'm hoping if I don't fuck this up, that I should get something halfway decent.

My original intention was to plant in a garden, but I've decided to see what I can do in small pot.

The pot is 5" across the top and I do not intend to transplant. I mixed some perlite into a starting seed mix, and I also mixed a bit of tomato compost mix into a little bit of the seed raising mix, and just put that in the bottom of the pot. So far at 5 days she looks about at the same stage as my hydro grows.

I'm planning on using the GP3 hydro solutions for this plant, although I have not used any yet.

What is the best way for me to proceed, at the moment the soil feels moist and loose but not wet. This is an auto btw.

You're gonna want to transplant.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, I just want to do the best I can in this pot with the tools I already have. I have seen pretty decent grows in a smaller solo cup, for example this one... I'd like to get a result similar to that. Being used to hydro, I don't have a clue or a feel for watering, I know they don't like to be waterlogged. I'm not sure how or when to begin to use my hydro nutes for this little pot.

Don't water it anymore for awhile.

Run an air pump on a timer drip system and real light nutes start at 18 hours and drop to 12 at a pace probably need some flush

I only have two questions. How are you getting free photons? I’m always down with free. What went wrong with your outdoor? 5 g off an outdoor plant seems absurd

Spillover from my indoor lights so already paid for whether I use the spillover photons or not. What went wrong? Fucked if I know, here's a DP blackberry kush bot - 1.jpeg, in a garden with other stuff. Just stayed tiny, had decent summer light too. And here a Jedi Kush that was a guerrilla growbot - 3.jpegbot - 4.jpeg. See how well all the surrounding shrubbery did! I cleared a space and dug up the soil and enriched it with some good compost plus perlite and mica. I estimate I drove 1000km over the summer 25km each way (it was a scenic drive on my bike), to water her plus added nutrients. She also produced a high quality bud, just not much.bot - 5.jpeg

Here's a shot of the garden where the blackberry kush was 'growing'. Even the sunflowers were growing with multiple heads on a single stem which I've never seen before, and I just found out that they are one of the best companion plants for the weed. I don't know how people grow these autos outdoors in pots. It is beyond my ken, I guess I just don't have that mythical green thumb, although I do have clay coloured fingers.

if it was me I would put another cup under it with no holes and treat it just like hydro
You can’t let it go without feed at this point

The outdoor plants were competing with the other plants. Some established. No bueno.
As far as your potted plant, water sparingly. Probably got a week before you’ll need nutes. Sparingly.
I’d flower pretty soon. Sooner than you would think.

At first, i was watering b4 they were totally dry, but I started seeing fungus gnats eating the root hairs in the bottom near the drain holes. (clear bottles) So...I let them get very dry b4 watering again. So dry, that they would wilt in another hour or two.
When I water, I add it in 3 increments to make sure the soil gets fully wet again. Always let it run-off about 10%
No trimming at all. I just let 'em grow and pull off the yellow leaves.

@drsaltzman this is an auto. Leaves seemed a little bit too yellowish, so I gently gave her water till some dripped out and I weighed the pot and took a pH reading of the run off, which was about 6, it might be my imagination but she already appeared to green up a bit. So should I wait till it's starting to dry a bit on the surface? I imagine that she won't be using much water for a while. I didn't water log her.

Less is more right now. When it outgrows that pot you’ll be watering a lot.
