first time hydro grow...help and info needed please.

Yep same here. First grow but with tons of learning beforehand.
We're all a bunch of noobs here lol!

Any experience with fem seeds are they 100 percent or more like a 60/40 chance of female plants

Well out of the 5 seeds that successfully planted all of them are female. I'm sure it's not 100 % however and I'm trying to keep a vigilant eye out for hermaphrodites.

I was 6 for 6 female on my first grow and they were called mystery seeds. Not meaning that they are inferior just that after they are done packing up named brand seeds their are always stragglers on the table so they sell them at a cheaper rate but still top quality seeds.

I have heard that if you have fem seeds go male or hermie it is because you stressed the plant out somehow.

Yea that's basically what my understanding is with "feminized" seeds. I've seen posts where people have gotten mostly male plants from so called "feminized" seeds from allegedly disreputable sources. Either way I think it's a safe bet that your feminized seeds will be female. Never hurts to be cautious.

Ok thanks but with most info it brings in more questions about this hermi thing what causes it I have seen posts with replies of causes from stresss to fem seeds or autoflower does anyone really know

I think the general consensus is either genetics (plants grown from hermi's have a greater chance at becoming hermi) and stress. Stress being caused by a few things like: pruning, transplanting, drastic temperature changes, light malfunctions (like leaving light on 24 hours during flowering), etc. I'm not saying any of the prior will absolutely cause a hermi but I do know every one of those things causes "stress" to the plant. Honestly it's something I'm a bit paranoid about since I've read that male sacs can appear on any node on a plant!

I had one plant 'stress out' as a large branch broke off on it's own leaving a large wound on the main stem.
I am watching it carefully for balls. It is only 21" tall and not growing vertically when the other 5 are 35 to 40" tall.
