First Time Growing!

I have this cheap little set up. My mom will flip if she finds my plant, so I gutted out a locker (wide enough) to put my plant in. It's in my closet. I duct taped all the edges of the locker so that no light is emitted. The walls are covered in aluminum foil. I have a 60w light bulb lamp along with a fluorescent light that is about 1 1/2 feet long. My plant is growing in a little bucket that sits at the bottom. Nothing fancy. I made it using the general necessities that I could find laying around the house. Pretty cheap.

I have a few questions.

1 - I put 5 seeds in it. Is that too much, not enough or just fine? My box is big enough, but I don't want it too crowded.
2 - I don't have the typical lighting that most growers use. Is this fine? Will it affect my plant's growth?
3 - I don't have a fan to circulate the air. Is this fine?
4 - What exactly is "topping"? How much of the plant do I need to cut? Do I need to top it?
5 - Will the odor of the plants ever get bad enough to stink up a whole level of my house? Or will I be able to get it out by burning lots of incense, and fanning it through my windows?
6 - Does cheap amateur home growing affect the dankness of my plant?
7 - Do I have to dispose of male plants?
8 - Can you smoke the leaves?
9 - I didn't germinate the seeds, although they seem to be sprouting fine. Is this fine?
10 - Do I have to clone my plants?
11 - Is it true that you can turn schwag seeds into danker stuff by growing it a certain way?
12 - How tall will my plant be when the budding process is complete and it's ready to be harvested? Will a plant grown from basic schwag seeds be too big or just fine when ready to harvest in a 4 foot tall box?
13 - Are nutrients a necessity?
14 - I have no way (to my knowledge) of keeping the grow box at the desired humidity level. Will this be ok?

These are just a few questions I could think of that I need to know while growing. I would appreciate some help through this process. Thanks in advance.

I have read a lot of them, including ones on other websites. I'm still not finding the answers to all my questions.

well your wasting your time growing anyways your best bet is outdoors

yeah bro you are going to have some real probs there. first the seeds should have been in seperate little pots one seed per. Next you are going to need better lighting eventualy and it will get hot in there. Why not find a friend who can grow at his place and get it out of your house? Also read some of the FAQ's here they are realy helpful. I would love to try and help you all I can. I am patient to teach what I know. But there are many many here who know more. But I have some experience I am willing to share. If you are going to grow you have to plan and be serious.

Thanks, dude. This is more of an experimental grow just to learn how to grow. Because I know my first few plants are gonna be failures. I wanna learn from each grow though. So everybody needs to quit bitching and telling me I'm wasting my time. As if your first grow was perfect. You probably did the same shit I did.

dont think that way ..................look at my link about first grow. It is the grow I am getting ready to harvest, With a good attitude and willingness to learn and keep an open mind you can grow great the first time. I fell right into it because I love smoking so why not grow my habit? Man growing has become so much more. it is theraputic to me and very calming.

Answers I hope this helps.

1. 1 seed per pot

2. Yes it will effect your plant growth...Get the regular light bulb out of ther 2 it's useless and hot. Go get a few cfl's there cheap at wal mart.

3. You need something to circulate the air, just like you plants need fresh air to live.

4. You don't have to top your plant just grow them regular for now. If you want to top them later then post a new thread.

5. Your plants will stink pretty bad and covering up the smell will not be exceptable. Neither will fanning it out a window.

6. Yes your cheap grow will have loose bud if any and your plants will stretch.

7. Yes you should get rid of the male plants but you don't have 2 if you want seeds in your bud.

8. If you want to smoke the leaves smoke them.

9. You dont have to germinate the seeds, you germ them to be sure that the seeds are viable.

10. No you don't have to clone, you clone so you don't have to grow from seed and it saves on overall grow time.

11. You can grow some good weed from bagseed but it's mostly the genetics.

12. The height depends on when you flower your plants they will double or triple in size.

13. Yes your soil indoors only has so much nutrient value.

14. Your plants will live without you knowing the humidity but it helps to know.


P.S. If you want to take this serious then you should read through the grow FAQ and upgrade your lights etc.
And these are only short general answers.

6 - What do you mean by "stretch"?
8 - Do the leaves have an equal amount of potency as the buds?

stretch = the plant growing upward because the lights are not close enough. this is why you notice people have plants that look "tall and lanky", as opposed to "short and compact"

no, leaves do not have the same potency. save em up, and make oil or something...
