First Time Growing

Hi,
I am new to this community here, also new to growing in general, but a long time smoker.

Anyways, after wanting to try to grow for so long I finally decided to give it a shot and I thought I'd share some of my photos i've been documenting of my plants im growing, i am not sure how well I am doing, since its the first thing i've really grown other than cucumbers i started a couple weeks prior to it. So i've got abit of an untrained eye.

I've got 3 going OG KUSH, GREEN CRACK by Canuk Seeds & Gorilla Girl by SweetSeeds (freebie)

Everything was planted from seed August 16th

ProMix Preimum Herb/Veg Soil
2 1000w LED Lights
18/6 lighting
3 Gallon Containers

Any feedback, tips etc. would be greatly appreciated, not sure what to look for exactly.

Thanks!

Rush,
Your plants look good. I'm a little surprised that there is that large of a difference in size, all being started at the same time.

Not being negative...
Just a friendly word of advice.
You listed your lights as '2 1000w LED Lights', my guess, that is what it said on the package, but that's not what they really are.
Around here you will hear the expression 'watts at the wall', that means the actual wattage being used (or being pulled from the circuit 'at the wall').
If you look up your lights it should list the actual amperage draw, and that times your voltage is the actual wattage (power) you are using.
The lighting manufacturers will advertise a '1000w LED' because they claim it to be equivalent to a 1000 watt HID lamp, they all lie, the lights are not equivalent.
Welcome to RIU, and good luck with your grow.

Hey,
No worries, I welcome any criticism, i'm a newbie after all, and I need to learn from my mistakes. It actually was sold as 1000W LED (https://www.amazon.ca/Lights-Spectrum-Powerful-Professional-Upgraded/dp/B07NQJBQL5/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=1000w+led&qid=1599525613&sr=8-6), I got one then decided to get a second one, mainly because of the price. I only learned about the marketing . I posted some updated photos in the thread with more of a natural flash to see the details of the plant a little more clearly. They really do grow like little weeds, its hard to believe my picture just 22 days before it was just a seed.

Thanks again for the feedback, and again I welcome any criticism.

Hopefully that's good enough to make a judgement call
Gorgeous and well done!! Plants are all over the place genetics vary even amongst siblings. Here's my grow from the other day. Check out the variation in the 2 rows closest to the camera. They are the same age. The plants in the last two rows are several weeks younger so ignore them.

Variation is normal and to be expected. Your plants look great.

Wow! Thats one beautiful looking plant! I wish I had the room to do something like that, however I only have the luxury of converting my walkin closet in my condo to a little grow space. I hope I can get mine to that size or get some good yields. I'm glad i'm on the right track, thank you so much for the feedback!

Rush,

Maybe your rules for advertising 'up north' is a little different then down in the States.

This gives you an idea of the "1000 watt Led" is listed as.

" just consumes about 135w power "
  • Actual Power:135w±5%

Just throwing it out there.
