First time growing ever got questions i need answered!!!!

Yo this is my first time growing ever. I'm using a indoor closet. the space im working with 6 ft x2ft x 5ft. I built a wall about 5'11 to seperate most of closet jus giving me enough space to store untensils. The light im using is a mh 250 watt light to veg n a 250 watt hps when i flower. Im using a 250 watt ballast mounted outside the closet on the wall to generate less heat. currently i have no cfm fan yet to circulate the hot air out of the closet. for now im using 3 fans one to pull in cool air and one pushing it out. the last one is for cooling the light. I just picked up 4 clones that are in coco medium on 5/15/12 so now im waiting for the roots to show from the bottom so i can transfer in to bigger pots. i have the light set on a timer for 18/6 . I plan on using soil once i transplant so im wondering wat nutrients to us n how much to add. also i would like input letting me know if so far wat i described is good for the space im working with

Looks good. Hard to recommend a nutrient. I like General hydro Maxi bloom. If your running soil, do a little research on what's available in your area. decide on all organic or mineral based or a hybrid.

I try to avoid companies that make outragious claims and have ads that read like penis enlargement or weight loss advertisements. Plant nutrition is nothing new and the science behind it is well documented. New developments don't come along everyday as this industry would have you believe.

thanks i did it on a small budget but did my best to cut no corners. Im jus curious if since my clones are in a coco medium i should buy more then use fox farm a and b? any help would be apprecitated

yo man, so your room looks cool, but im noticing your ladies are in kind of small pots? what size are they? ive never used coco so i cant say too much, but i run happy frog soil and use the botanicare lineup for soil pro bloom and use soil pro veg, hope my input helps

ya i jus got them on tuesday and the clinic i got them from gave me a transplant guide to go off of and says to wait several days to have the roots come threw the bottom n let them get settled to the grow room. the roots are about ready so by tomoorow im goin to be replanting them in a pot 9" deep with similiar organic soil if not the same coco thats already in the pot it came in. Should i go bigger i cant really have that massive of a plant yet. the plants range from 8" to 10". First thing in the morning im going to the hydro store n see what options they tell me ima deff check out the products you metioned good lookin out mang.

Yeah I've never really used the coco stuff before, but ur talkin bout the stuff that is made from that soft stringy brown layer on coconuts right, I've heard good stuff about it, but I thought it was used more by hydro growers, what cause its like there r no nutrients in it right, so the plant only gets what nutes r in the water. I like soil grows myself I have been using the FFOF soil, but when I have the room to do it I also like to mix up my own soil with some organic potting soil, perlite, vermiculite, worm castings, and some lime. Gives u a nice base to start off with u shouldn't need any nutes for the 1st month.

looks awesome man, how are the temps in there? i would love to be able to use MH/HPS but I work a lot and don't like the idea of having bulbs that hot in my house unattended.

if its your first grow then i would use soil, coco is more forgiving then hydro but its easier to fry your plants than soil. soil gives a good buffer for ph and nute mistakes.kellogs patio plus is a good cheap soil it has perlite but i add alittle more perlite for better drainage.general hydroponics ferts grow for veg .and ,bloom for flower. and with the space you have you dont want to wait to long to put in flower they will strech and if it gets crowded in there you can have humidity issues.

go coco my friend and you wont regret it......just keep the ph 5.5-5.8 ..............very easy to use and if you over nute its easy to flush..cant over water......i used to grow in soil but no way id go back now........

one other thing if you are already in coco then shift to soil you may experience some bad ph problems as the ph is different in each...........

it gets between 76-80 i try n keep it as cool as possible but not to cool so it wont stress the plants. i got 2 windows i leave open all day n my closet cracked on both sides so it realeases hot and cold equally. when there sleeping thats when i gotta keep a eye on temp cus i dont want it to dip to low n stress the plants. ya i worry about my lights to but as long as u dont have water n other fire hazards n keep the light cool it shuld be safe i hope .

thanks man. ya ive never grown in either soil or coco. just the clones i bought came already in it. i checked out sum of the coco products on the website. How much does a typical bag of the medium go for and what do i need to add to the water?

i use hesi coco nutes, nice and simple and i use hammerhead pk............coco holds no nutes like soil so you need to feed from the start........canna coco is some good stuff.......there is a canna coco thread and a coco thread on here.......this is a gh lemon skunk done in coco 12-12 from seed......

ya thats what i believe it came in canna coco is it pretty expenisive to buy n does it contain most of the nutrients i will need to veg n flower or do i need to buy a bloom n the reg one?

its nute free mate.....you need tnt for veg and hesi coco which is an orange colur feed for bloom........ive ude tnt all the way through before and it was still fine.

ya i ended up buying a bag of the coco medium for around 17 bucks n bought a starter nutrient kit. I transfered them today into large buckets. jus got a venting problem kinda to cheap to buy a hot air exhaust fan.
