image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Right now I'm at week 7 day 3 since light switch and everything was going fine and looking wild for it being my first time. So I went into my room when my lights kicked on at 9pm and everything was fine and lush green. I went back in the next night when the lights flipped on and all my fan leaves had turned brown and dried out and some left still had some slight purpling at the tips. This was not the type of yellowing you get in a flush either. I had no heat problems or anything like that. I pulled the plant out and flushed it immediately. It's been about four days and I thinks it's still getting worse. My setup is a 4'x4'x7' with a 1000watt HPS air cooled hood with a 6"x18" Phresh Carbon filter and a "8 Hyper fan sucking air out and pushing the heat under my floor dialed down to about 40%. I was using Fox Farms Dirty Dozen nutrients and Cal-Mag+. It's a soil grow.

Should I just let it go a few days longer and see if it fixes itself or should I bite the bullet and cut it down trying to save the harvest? I have all kinds of nutrients and am willing to try whatever trying to fix them. Please any advice.

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

In response to your post...you may want to take a look here: http://www.growweedeasy.com/bud-rot

Good Luck and Great Growz!

Most likely a lot less nutrients next time. Beast of a plant though, good job on that. Did you de foliate at all during your grow?

Thank you for your reply. I had thought that bud rot might have been the problem but wanted some actual opinions from experienced growers since there are none around me. I've read and done research for years and years before I ever decided to do my first grow, but you don't see stuff like this up close and personal in any of the research until it personally happens to you. Thank you though.

Yes I defoliated an trained it the whole grow. It took all the nutrients just fine and had the whole grow. I didn't up the PPM or anything but I did use my creek water for my last feeding instead of my normal tap water because my creek water had a starting PPM of 35 and my tap water had a starting PPM of 195-223. I only feed every two plain waterings with just CalMag added. So WWFWWF. I have no idea what caused it. I have a good AC for my tent too.

Man if you are watering your plants and misting there is a chance your getting rot from the string used from your sog, hard to see on here but is the string moist?

It sure does look a little like bud rot but I'm not completely sold on it. Does it smell moldy or organic ? Feel powdery, slimy,or crispy? Is it damp and spongy? Did you accidentally over fertilize?

I believe thats the problem with de foliating all the leaves. Once you hit a slight problem, nutrient burn or a decency all the leaves will fry and take a beating. Next time try no defoliating so much if any.

I may have accidentally over fertilized but I don't know how because I haven't changed my PPM. The buds when I touch them at the bad spots are very dry and brittle but the spots not affected feel good and normal healthy.
