First time grower, need some tips :)

Hello everyone, It's been a long time since I've been interested in the world of marihuana growing, and since this is my first plant, Ive been extremely nervous and feeling a bit unprepared.. hopefully some of you experts can help me out.

I started germinating May 25th, planted around 3/4 days after that, so lets say May 28th , its been about 3 weeks and its suffered certain situations/complications....

1. The first week I put it out on sunlight since my lamp and set up where not ready(i know that wasn't the best idea since I knew i had to transfer the plant indoor. Mid week 1 my lamp arrived and I started a normal 16h light cycle (i miss-calculated delivery times in the south of italy for my lamp) Im using a 80w led lamp.

2. Secondly I got a weird ammoniac smell out of the soil and had to emergency transplant to new soil.(It was stressfull for me and for the plant, but i thought we had pulled through)

3. The seedling did survive and it started to grow fast, but now it slowly showed signs of stress(heat increase, no nutrients?)

4. Week 3, which is right now, Ive ordered and received biobizz root juice, and the biobizz try pack with grow, bloom and topmax nutrients.

My main question is how to start using the nutrients without affecting the plant too much, should i use root juice even if its week 3?

The temperature in my house has risen to almost 30 degrees celcius , but i have a fan on the plant so she is around 25,26.
Ive managed to keep a stable humidity of 50,60 percent.
If the soil is dry how often should I water, because of the heat the soil dries up almost every day... Ive been watering with a spray bottle that mostly makes it moist, I dont think the water gets all the way to the bottom with the bottle, 2,3 times a week at night i give it a larger dose of water, any tips on this aswell? I really want her to make it, she is an autoflowering seed from sensei seeds in amsterdam, im not sure what strain... we will have to find out... hopefully some of you can eventually recognize the strain.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I would be watering to runoff every time, not with a spray bottle. It will take longer than a day to dry out then. If it is still drying out very quickly just give water in between feedings.

Mostly, don't stress yourself, these things grow themselves after all. Just provide the basics and watch.

Thank you so much for the reply, and hopefully you are right... it’s just my first time, I’m sure every first time grower gets a little nervous.

Any tips on the nutrients and feeding, I still haven’t fed my plant.... should that be worrying, I plan on doing my first feeding tonight? 1ml of root juice and 1ml of grow in 2L of water , and I’ll water the plant fully with runoff.. is that correct?

Thanks again trippledip,

Here is an updated picture of my girl.

not a bad looking little girl you have. on the contrary to belief you can spray with a water bottle with just water and you'll be just fine. After she gets a little older you can move up to a glass and then from there so on and so on.....

usually when they are sprouts i use the tip of my pinky finger and feel, if its dry to the first knuckle she needs watering or a good spraying of the soil, not on the plant itself....

since your new at this.......always remember patience is a virtue so don't get into a rush

gl and keep it green

I don't know anything about biobizz, but when I started growing I used less feed for the first few weeks and found that's unnecessary. Now my plants go straight to full strength veg feedings (still half of what gh recommends) for their first non-water feeding (600ish ppm on 500 calibration) both from seed and clone. As some people here say 'learn to read your plants', personally I try to feed them as much as they will take ie, not drinking too fast from high ppms, no tip burn, etc. I have a million more problems with underfeeding than overfeeding.

Thanks BudmanTX, I ended up watering last night with the nutrient mix and it seems like she has taken her first feeding just fine, im going to wait until tonight to see how she is, but she looked great this morning, her color had brightened a lot.

Im in week 3 which is no longer vegetative phase, but since of the complications and different tansplants that have occurred, I gave her a little more time on veg phase, hopefully by monday I can begin with a constant feeding and lowering the light cycle to 12/12.

Ill post and updated pic, id appreciate and feedback

I think it looks fine. A little small for its age. If I were you I wouldn't flip to flowering until it was taller. I don't know how much height you have in your space, but a 16" plant will double, or maybe a little more by completion. I would try to take advantage of all the height you have. Maximize your yield.

One of your tips has nute burn..i would ease off nutes..1/4 strength..if u have some cal-mag..use it at half strength..plant overall looks ok.. Soil takes a little while to show symptoms.. If it gets worse..flush with just water..good luck..good yield..

Agree and add your light is not very strong. To this point I advise against flipping it until you can add more and better light. Otherwise I think you’re going to be very frustrated and disappointed.

a little burn, a little nutrient lockout; check on your h2o (pH, ppm) and see if you can find any stats from your local water treatment (what's in your water and how much is there). listen to harley about your light situation and consider potting up (transplanting to a bigger pot).

If you do transplant, be aware that you could induce a little shock that might take a few days to a week for her to get over. aloe juice, kelp tea, or superthrive (not sure if this product is available to you) will all help ease the shock.

CFL setups are definitely a cheap and easy way to add light where your plant needs it. Especially with only one plant, its worth having side lighting below the 'canopy'. You could also top it at the second true node, though I'm not sure if autos like that.

If it is an auto, its been bred to flower over time rather than according to photoperiod, so go ahead and keep giving her 18-20 hours of light a day.

good luck,

be easy,
