first time grower, need some help

Im a first time grower with a setup in my house. Its in the room with the hot water heater, which keeps it warm and i put a bowl of water in there to help with humidity. I have 3 seedlings that sprouted, but i germinated about 5 seeds, and put two non-germinated seeds in soil with the germinated ones. the seeds are in about 4" of miracle grow seed starter, in plastic cups with slits in the bottom. they are hanging about 7" from 2 'cool' white flourescent tubes 4' 45 watts. 3 sprouts have started, ones about 2 1/12", the other about half an inch, and the other hasn't even opened up yet. I'm just looking for tips on my grow to make successfull. please help, I will post more and pix later. ps. the sprouts are kinda lengthy with smaller leaves, i was wondering if this is bad, or a sign of a deficinecy somewhere. like i said i will post more later, nd pix, advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Get those fluorescents within about 2" of the tops of the sprouts.

So they don't stretch for the light any more.

If they fall over, get a straw and cut it to the desired height. Then make a slit down the side, open the straw, and wrap it around the stem. Then push the straw into the dirt a bit so it can support your seedlings. Also get a fan and have it blowing on them on low, this promotes stem growth.

Good luck. :hump:

90watts might be enough to get started but you will soon need more, and a mix of 6500k and 2700k
