First time grower (Need Help)

So basically I've started about 2 weeks ago.. And things have not started off well so far.. My seeds arrived, I ordered 6 feminized from attitude. Tried the paper towel Method on just 4 of them, because that was gonna be my starting point.. All of the seeds popped but only one actually grew a tap root, about 1/4".. But I figured the others would be fine since they popped regardless, so I planted them all in the solo cups and covered them in plastic wrap. Only 1 sprouted, the one with a tap root after 2 days. The rest I just figured would be a lil late to the party.. But a week later still nothing. So I germ'd the last 2 seeds I had.. Again only popped, but no actual root growing. And these second 2 I started with soaking in a cup for 13 hours till they sank. Those 2 haven't sprouted either, so I assume those are a lost cause.

Now I still have my 1, and a new order of seeds on the way. Which After reading and doing more research I might just allow some of those to pre-soak until they pop and then place them directly into soil to avoid harm to the seeds.

Now ow for another problem I have come across when I put up my grow room, is that the temperature around my plant is 85-88 F. And no matter what I've done, I can't seem to get it to drop.. I've done the hand test to see if it's too hot for my plants at the distance it is now, and it feels fine, but now when I use the thermometer to check the temp of the whole room itself it stays around 78-79 F. It's just getting hot in the location of underneath the light .. But the temperature still feels like a issue I should concern myself with. Humidity bounces between 35%-40%.. Not really sure if that is acceptable.. But so far it seems to be fine. I'm using a t5 light for my vegging right now. My grow room is 4'x4'x7', i will also post a picture of the setup so those who could help have any idea.. I'm just also really concerned because if it's that hot with just the t5, what will it be like once I add my 600w hps.

I have 1 oscillating fan that I just added today hoping it will help some.. And 2 6 inch fans hanging from the top.

Any advice, tips, suggestions, and opinions would be wonderful, and any for my plant would nice aswell.

Having oscilating fans above your lights arent going to help. Take the clamp on one and bring it all the way down and let it blow inbetween the plants n light. I would also take the active air inline fan u have and mount it outside the then as close to wherever your exhausting to, that thing will pull a ton more air than it will push and its one less thing heating the room. No point to even have that big oscilating fan in their yet. The paper towel thing is silly, never understood doing it, take a styrofoam cup n put holes in the bottom with a tooth pick, fill it with your medium and water it good, put your seed in a 1/4" deep and cover with ceran wrap, put it on your water heater n ul have a sprout n 2 days, uncover it n put it under the lights, simple n foolproof. Dont know who started that paper towel thing but they should be shot for complicating such a simple task, works the same in soil and n rockwool, never fails

well i save alot of soil on bad beans by using the paper towel method and it only takes a like 1 minute to do it.

IMO The seeds was probably DOA...Attitude been getting lot bad press of late on Forums..
Wouldn't put fans too close to baby at this stage(still Little) try and bounce/deflect fan off a wall/side of Grow Room...
humidity is Low for Veg....when Heat raises humidity drops I think?
I've used paper towel for all my Bought seeds(Herbies) and everyone of em has sprouted :weed: 100% Ratio..can't fault Herbies, and can only say what I've read about Attitude of Late...Was meant to be one of the best..maybe drop em a Email and explain only 1 germinated..might send you some Freebies/Replacements??

Hope Grow goes OK m8

Peace

I know everyones going to defend the paper towel thing but iv gotten seeds from several breeders and the only time iv had seeds not sprout is a while back when I was fucked up n decided to pop my critical kush in untreated rockwool that I just watered with tap water, they didnt pop, never had a dud, rockwool or soil. And if its a dud why would it be a waste of soil? Pull the old one out n plant another one. Not like soil is sterile

Sometimes if Grow Room setup not Dialled in, adding fans can just make it Hotter...mad I know but I've seen it first hand(mate turned Fans off and Temps Dropped) once he had move em around and changed the way his Exhaust fan was working everything was fine..

Peace

well all you gotta do is pull that light up so the temps aint so high. that will fix that. then when you put a 600 in there , you will have to have a/c. (85-88f is not gonna kill anything specially a seedling) the humidity could be a bit higher .... 50 to 65 during veg. but its alright for now.....

right now that baby needs to dry up some , she looks very stunted from too much moisture. do not give her a drip of water till she drys up just enough to get some more air to them roots.

To me it seems like you killed what you had living, with plastic.
Don't know if that's correct but it was living and I don't understand why
you put plastic over it. I believe it got choked for air.
I grow bubbleponics, put the seed in a cup of water with a teaspoon of peroxide, cover
with plastic poke some holes in plastic 75-80* dark usually popped in 24hrs or so.
Then under 12 hrs light & water hitting on side of rockwool, then I start PHing after I start feeding it.
That's the way it works for me,I can't grow anything with soil even tomatoes.
Reading jbone's post it sounds like what I'm saying also, except I'm smarter than a paper towel,
I used them a long time, they work well used correctly. (lol)

Well thank you everyone for these helpful tips.. I very much appreciate all these solutions..

So I take it the paper towel method works for some. But I guess I'm not one of those lucky people lol.

-but what I took from all this is move the inline fan out so it's one less thing producing heat inside.

-remove oscillating fan for now. And try either removing all the fans and see if it cools or place some fans blowing between my plants and light.

-and perhaps life the light some and maybe the area should cool off..

and let my plant dry out for a lil while because it looks stunned..

but if I lift the light , will that have any effect on the plant?

If you lift the light its just going to stretch to get to the light. A fan blowing between the fan and light will help a lot. Having your inline fan out of the tent and closer to where your venting to will also help a lot.

i like using tower fans in my tent that cover more verticle area. also invest in some clip on fans and clip them below the light to blow over the lights. make sure you have an exhaust fan pulling the hot air outa there. i use HOT5 in my tent and they do get rather hot compared to regular t5 or CFL lights.

So I used a lot of the advice and tips, and raising the light and positioning my 6" fan to blow between my plant and light has brought down the temp. to 74-76 F.

Thank you everyone

putting the inline fan outside will help a tiny bit..... i would not remove other fan at all , you NEED air movement in there. that girl is strong , she can handle the direct fan no prob. just keep as much air moving as possible to dry her out. and lifting the light will not have much of an affect at this point cause she is small an dont need that much light..... but it will lower your canopy temps bigtime! you can put that light on the cieling and it would not affect much at all.
i would say move it up at least a foot ......plenty of air flow , let that dirt dry out so them roots can get some much needed air!

(these are not suggestions , this is me telling you what to do in a very nice way  )
