First Time Grower Need Help

Ok i really dont know much about growing plants this is my first time but i do have some knowledge of how to grow my plants but i feel like im doing something wrong,
I used miracle grow for soil and I have two 23 watt compact fluorescent lights on top of two plants that have grown, the seeds that i used were Kandy Kush x Shunk and Pure Afghan

I have pictures tell me what you think the bigger one is kandy kush x shunk and the smaller one is the pure afghan

water it a tad less...unless you added perlite to your MG soil, its going to hold moisture like a bandit...that leads to death of a MJ plant if the root system is suffocated...

So...what do you do from here...those little puppies are ready to be transplanted into a larger pot...and when you do...buy a bag of perlite and mix it in with your soil...MG soil is fine to use(though you'll hear plenty of people bitch about it)...if its regular miracle grow that contains time release nutrients PLEASE be sure and not to overwater it or you'll release all the time release nutes at once burning your plants to the ground.

So mix up new soil+perlite and uppot now...

The other issue you have is not enough light...you need more of those CFL's if you plan on actually growing anything...one per plant is nowhere near enough. You'll want at LEAST 4 per plant...the more the better...get em nice and close without burning them(1-2" away) now that they are past the "seedling" stage and have a few sets of good true leaves(you want to have them a bit further away when they are babies)...

Yes, more light! And I also suggest getting rid of the tin foil, go to a med supply store or Ebay and get some emergency blankets. Very cheap and made of Mylar.

Any idea what you could do if it got overwatered and the time released nutes did start to burn the plants ?

ok its been a while but i have moved them both to a new pot and also moved my whole system around actually, I've now got a 600watt hps light and also i have started flowering already cause of a height issue, now i also have throw in a curveball i have a whole bunch of seeds and i decide to throw in my grow room an Ak-48 fem. seed to start straight from 12/12, i also have another problem my plants leaves are like turning yellow is there any way to stop this from happening, pics will be included today later on there in sleep mode right now lol

the ones on the far left are the kandy kush x shunk and the ones on the right are the pure afghan and i was wondering what is my main problem here i think its a N deficiency or im not sure what kind of deficiency could somebody give me some tips on how to help me o get this to stop

Well what kind of yellowing is it? if its just yellowing from the tips and not turning a brown or any other discolor then its probably a nitrogen problem if it is yellowing and drooping really badly it could be from too much water....or reverse if your not watering enough and fan leaves are yellow and dry then prolly needs a little more water ive only done it about 3 times and i kept a journal it helps to keep track

That would be light/heat burn my friend. The seedling is stretching because the light is to far from her. The big ones are likely to close. Put the seedling back under the cfl that is all it will need until she has a couple of sets of true leaves. How far is the 600w from the others and what are your temps? Since you are using MG as long as they are not being overwatered, nutes are very likely not the issue.

Looks like a magnesium deficiency or potassium this happened to me recently i am still struggling with the problem but i have looked it up and that is the two ive narrowed it down to those two try flushing with pure water but if you have the time release i would say be careful

DO NOT FLUSH!!! In MG you will burn them to death! I am highly doubtful you have any nute issue at all and am 99% sure it is light bleaching.

Then this light burn must of happened while it was in its grow box because the burns were there before i moved the plants to the there new location the grow tent but i dont believe my temps are high because i have a fan running in the grow tent 24/7

its yellowing from the tips on the kandy kush, and the afghan is like pruning up and leaves have died at the bottom but the top looks healthy as can be, do you think its cause the bottom really doesnt have any light

ok, how big is the grow area? What are you using for ventilation?

No Thermometer but i have a small house but my central air device keeps ahold of the Temperature and i keep it at like 73 degrees or less

Dude, you have to monitor the temp inside the the tent. I keep my apt at 76, in my tent it gets to 83 sometimes. And I only have 250w, if I did'nt have the tent open when the lights are on it gets almost 100 degrees in there. If you have the tent zipped, with 600w in there you have heat stress and burn. No two ways about it. That is of course unless you have a better ventilation system than just a fan in the tent.

the grow area i can always alter as i please cause i have my plants in like a moveable closet frame with a grow room tent over it and i can add poles to raise my light, and ventilation i have circular holes in the front and in the back and standing 13' fan
