First-Time Grower. How is this for Cab Growing?

After lurking on this site for some time now, and constantly researching this, I'm finally going to do it, I'm going to try my hand at Marijuana Horticulture, but I need your help to do it! (You guys have already helped out so much with helping me better understand the practice or growing bud.) This is my only viable option for growing, as it cannot be in the house, and it has to be away from prying eyes and nosy neighbors. The Cab in the attachments was built out in my shed, as you can see, I've been using it for chickens but I'm not going to go into that. It's an unfinished product, I still need to install a fan, get the light on a better mount so I can move it up and down as my plants grow, install ventilation, mylar, and further air/light/smellproof this thing. The dimensions are 31w x 29h x 46l in inches, or 2ft 7in by 2ft 5in by 3ft 8in. Northern Lights has been a very successful beginner grow seed which I plan on ordering/using, so the small space shouldn't be too much of a problem. I just have a few questions for anyone who has done something like this before with a similar setup or can just offer advice about this one. : Where best would the fan/ventilation/lights be installed? Could I use this for veg and flowering stages if I separated it down the middle and light proof each room so I can have one 24 hours on and one 12/12? If utilizing underneath the cab in the pictures was an option, could I set up the flowering room on the bottom and keep veg on top? Would this be best? Is it being outdoor in a shed a problem as far as temperature goes? During winter would I have to warm up the whole shed before I opened the cab to keep the plants from going into shock from the drastic temp change? How many plants could I successfully grow in this amount of space without it being too many? I will continue to post pictures as I progress with this as per the advice of this forum and this thread, however, I will be adding it in the 'Grow Journals' section if this one garners enough interest.

You could totally work with that. It's up to you what you want to do. You could plant several plants in there and flower them straight from seed in a sea of green style. Run the exhaust out the side (think L block from tetris) and hammer a wooden cover over it.

For the lights, you'd definitely benefit from a ballast as you've said. In a space like that, T5 grow lights would work fine (similar to the ones in that picture). A veg box and a flower box would be a good idea for a perpetual grow.

I'm not sure how many plants you'd be able to grow in this area. It's up to you to find what works.

EDIT: You could try a "less plants with more tops" approach.

Thanks for the reply and helpful information! I was actually thinking of doing a ScOG and reading into it for a bit, but like I said, all I've done is read up on it (quite a bit), as far as the actual implementation I'm as new as they get. That being said, I'm not sure if SOG or ScOG would be ideal for me until have a grow or two under my belt. Should I put the exhaust out of the top or bottom, does it matter? I've heard PC fans were great for this, should I use that or is there something as practical?

hey Josh, gotta agree with nb, it would be a great cab grow. as for fans I would probably put 2 exhaust fans in and have passive intake, the fans obviously need to be quiet so go for 120mm/800rpm @ 10dB, you wont hear a thing. for passive vents you could try circular soffit vents or vivarium vents and as this is a stealth grow you could build light traps on the inside of the cab for the fans and the vents. hope this helps.
