i bought 2 , 2 bulb 40 watt fluro's but they arnt quite dense enough light for later in veg.

You should look into Y brackets and a few lamp set ups with CFL's 26w or greater

6500k for veg
2700k for flowering ( which is the color of the bulbs)



i have 4 6500k and 2 2700k atm for veg on top of the 2 fluro fixtures. about a 90 dollar investment. (adding them slowly over timer helps to since us newbies are tight on cash, 2 a week or so.)

that is what im going to do for the flowering stage im going to get all that stuff when i know howmany females i have in there first....

but this is what i got...i gave them a good watering and then left them be for about 3 days just let them go buck wild...i checked on them and they are LEANING bad...the stems are to skinny and there leaves are taking off!!! hmm ill just post up some pics and show yall...

They look like they are stretching like hell for light and the leaves are weighing them done b/c of it.

Lowering your lights to 4-10 inchs from your plants is ideal.

i'd also reccomend a fan in your box that will move your plants like a breeze..no HIT them. but move them around strenghting the stem system.

they are looking good though keep it up

im thinkin it is cause i had two smaller lights in the begining and they werent getting enough light then i upgraded to these two lights and they are trying to take off and there stems cant keep up...hmmm alright....if u see in the pictures i have them proped up by tothpicks will that be acceptable will they fatten up at the stock so they can handle some weight?....here is a real noob question how do you get your signature to be your grow gournal

I would add some soil to help them stand up stright, looks like you couuld add at least an inch to each bucket that might help them stand up

ps420 acutly i was going to do that here in a few min after i get back from walmart...i have to pic up some chain and wood and shit i have to buld a box somewhere else that i can lock...my moms best friend is going to be stayin with us for a couple days but her husband is coming with.......the bad part.....HE IS A FUCKING COP!!!!!!.....SO IM NOW IN A PANIC TO MAKE THAT SHIT IN MY SHED BEHIND MY HOUSE.....anyways now my anus ate some of my seat now i get to go be a carpenter for a few hours.....

WHATS WITH THOSE PLANTS MAN!?!? they all look so sad, like a bagseed type of ivy. do any of them stand on there own? how old are they? mine is 2 weeks and its standing on its own but it has twice as many leaves as yours but a skinny little stem. i do like that tooh pick technique
if you hav a cop spending the weekend over i would scrap your project and start over. it dosnt seem worth the risk for those droopy little saplings. i would set up the new growroom in the shed the day he leaves.

keep your light closer to the tops of your plants. get some kind of fan blowing in you grow room, it looks like theres no air getting into your room. id say your plants are sufficating.

well i thank u for your input sir...i have come to the conclusion that it was cause of the little bitch lights i had on there...just not strong enough ya know...they were 20w and 15w now i have 160w...still not a HPS or MH but fuck its working....there like that cause they stretched for the weak light i was giving them so i put more dirt in and scraped the toothpics for now....unless i need them in the future...but there mostly standing on there own i had like 4 out of 12 that needed a lil assistance from the toothpicks...but now there standing themselfs and actualy i have to keep moving the light up about 1/2" ever morning they are touching by the time i check on them.... i figure fuck if they dont grow i got the shit to do a better grow soon....

and the cop situation im not really trippin on....he is only staying for one night...and im moving it outside where no one will see it in the shed and it will be totaly sealed off from the public...by a masterlock that is!!! im going to put my children out in the sun on the back patio...strip out all my shit thats in this box and move my shit out of the shed and "shrink" my box befor i put it in there....by cutting it the fuck up and makin it smaller....ya know the normal shit.... i guess....well stick round for more pictures as the day goes on.....

and once again thanks everyone for constructive critisizm...but kaleo lose the tin foil!! walmart---emergency blankets in the camping section...1.77 each!!! but more power to you and get another light and you will be golden!!!

oh and on a side note i do have a fan in there...got it on high!!! but not pointed at the plants till they get a lil bigger and can handle the strong breeze im going to throw at them!!!

ya the aluminum might not be the best to use but im going to hav to rebuild the whole thing anyways. as far as the one floresent light goes, im trying to use as little electricity as possible because the electric bill is what got me caught last time. honestly i used to use this lightbulb that mimicked the light of the sun but it was too hot, used the full ammount of electricity and died and was too $$$ to replace. im surprised my plant has done so well given the cheapness of where im growing her, but shes just an experement. i want to move her outside where i dont need to wory about it once the stm gets thick and sturdy.
good luck with your grow bro! it looks to me like you want to make some experence and money off this time around so you can do it with some good seeds next time

o did u use those little decomposeable dirt bags to put your seeds in? i saw those and figured they would eliminate the need for transplanting but i didnt steal any fast enough. my mom used them all for vegtables and i was jealous how easy they were for her.
oh and i had another tip for you. i remember one time in highschool me and my friends noticed light was pouring out of the cracks and corners this shed at all hours of the night. we noticd this and staked the place out for evry1 in the house to go to bed. the door was locked but i was in the presence of masterminds; they pushed the roof off of the nails and we forced a door off of the side. im ashamed to say this but we took about 15 under developed plants because we were young, smart and needed to smoke.
i guess the morel of the story is to tape up evry little crack and corner that a little ray of light could escape from

not going to make any money off this just thought the more i seed the better chance i have for a fem plant...ya i think that would be cool to grow outside but im in the middle of the city so i cant ....oh well im just learning from this experience and gathering the nessisary tools to go HYDRO!!!....

ya thats what i used they were like 2$ at home depot....i just germ my seeds for 4 days in total dark in a cup of water.... then added water to the wafers in little plasitc solo cups and put them in a box under a aquarium plant light in a cupbord somewhere and just a little water in the bottom of the cups every other day....and in about 4 days they were all sprouts....but thats wherei fucked my self i didnt have these new lights and just had that shit on those plants for about 2 weeks and it was so weak they streched for the light and made them stringy....but i put those new lights on them now there stems are getting stiff and woody and holding themselfs up since i put some more soile over the tops(like in the first pics when u can see the wafer) and now there getting bigger too!!! and yes i have the fan on them just incase i took a picture of them and what not so you can see them!!!! im a proud daddy!!!!!! but i cant get pics posted till tonight i have to find my digital camera....

ya when i move that shit out to the shed im going to have it on a 18/6 light cycle so off at night on durring the day type thing...and it will be inside a grow box inside there so there wont be any light leaking from there...

wel damn its ben a few days and im just now getting back online! sorry bout that had to back up everything on the hard drive and whipe the dell clean!! anyways the grow is going great. didnt get busted but my tobacco hookah thats sittin on my floor in my dining room colecting dust pissed him off when he caught eye of it. so needless to say he and his wife and daughter packed up the next day and BOUNCED! lol anyways the room is doing good temps are around 75-80 last time i checked and thats even in the sun all day. so im thinking thell do pretty good out there. i have a few littleones that im pob going to pull so i can get a fan in there seeing i dont have one in there now but i gotta make do with what i gots ya know! anyways here are some pics i took yesterday mornin when i feed the ladies.....

First try i couldnt get my bag seeds to germ , old maybe , maybe the soil tech i used . anyways the first box was to hot the lights didnt seem to be enough for the money so i returned the Fluro tubes for CFL's and fixtures.

anyways. seems to be moving along now hopefully ill harvest not long after you.

prob going to do it for another week or so then straight to 12/12 for however long its going to take i dont really know...but well see. its a learning prosses right? thats what im doing is learning but im keeping them on 24/0 light right now so they can grow non stop then ill give them total dark for a full day then to the 12/12 they go... and ill switch the lights out and get a 27K set of bulbs to put in there and run them on...all and all im happy so far cant complain...but well see shit changes ya know

imma try 24/0 im on 18/6 atm slowing transvert mine over. yours look awesome...

although the fluros cant burn ur plant so you could go closer then they are with no problem
