First time grower at week 3/4(pics)

First time grower, been lurking for about a month and wanted to show my progress and get some advise.

Its about week 3-4. Just moved them out of their small cups and into some makeshift bags last week(did it late). As you can see, I'm getting some decent foliage growth but my plants seems to be a bit small in height. I just purchased some 5 gal grow bags, should I transplant them into those larger bags? I only plan to veg maybe another 2-3 weeks so I'm not sure if the additional space is needed.

Details:

8 plants( a bit much for a first time but I planted every seed that germinated well)
2 ft 4 bulb overhead light with 6400k bulbs
Miracle Gro soil (potting mixed with the moisture soil)
Miracle Gro house plant food(with an emphasis on Nitrogen) 1x week

All comments and suggestions appreciated, thanks.

your grow looks excellent for a first grow and just a couple tubes. You know your going to have to beef up the lighting real soon ?
leave the transplant 'till your ready to flower 5 gallons is pretty big unless you're planing on a 600 or more watt HID light later.

Ok, you are going to need a hell of alot more light if you really want to see them grow...I don't think you've got anywhere near enough for the amount of plants you are trying to grow...if you switch to 12/12 in the next week you'll probably better off if you dont have plans to upgrade any of your lighting...but you'll need more 2700K bulbs for the flowering process and keep one of the 6400K bulbs.

The current bags you have should be fine if you switch to 12/12 soon and you wont need to go to 5gallon bags, you do though need to light lock the bags to prevent light from reaching the root system...so wrap it in ducttape or something...

They look good so far, but honestly again, unless you increase your amount of lighting you are not going to be happy with the bud production :)

They look very good. Those CFL's work pretty good for vegging. I used a 125 watt above and smaller ones for side lighting in the V split connecters. It worked well, but if you want to see what real lighting will do for vegging go to the 600 Club thread on indoor growers and go to like the last three pages of the thread. You'll see the results. I was proud as hell of mine till I saw his results. Fucking stalk envy. Anyway. You're plants are about to go into a big growth spurt. Don't sweat their size. You can probably just drop those clear bags into a dark bucket and not fuck with the tape. You definitely don't want clear sides when you grow. Looks good my friend.

looking awsome for your first.(especially considering you are using mg) the only thing i can think of is up the lighting they look a little small for 4 weeks also you might wanna get some real nutrients mg is a good emergency nute but if you get something anything really you will see much better results i recently started using dyna grow 20 bucks for a qt

personally i would get a few cfls to add supplemental lighting shoot for another 4 weeks

other then that keep up the good work you get what you pay for you could spend 100$ at the dispensary and get a few gs or 100$ on a grow and get a few oz just like anything else you get what you pay for

I'm going to look further into more lighting. I never planned to have so many plants because I used bag seeds and I didn't think most would germinate. I started with 12 seeds and 10 sprouted.

I'm going to cover the bags today and research on the HID lights. Just hope I don't have to know anything about electrical stuff. Since its my first time I'll be happy with anything, just tired of having to go someplace else to get my smoke.

Hey Spex420, thanks for the links. So add a few CFL's for a couple weeks then switch to the 150 hps? Or should I try to get both working at the same time?

I wouldn't be worrying about those bags, it's no big deal 'speacially with weak lights outdoors maybe not such a good idea.
Some of your plants may be males you know ? (bagseed might be from hermies and they're all female though)
a easy HID light source is a outdoor High Pressure Sodium (HPS) yard light from Home Depot etc.

Your plants look real good man nice job. Also one quick tip, be careful how much additional miracle gro nutes you give it because most miracle gro potting mix already feeds plants for 3 months. you dont wanna kill you beauties at such a young age!

Plants look great to me, I have just started my first grow and am on my 2nd. week. Is that all you have is the 4 bulb cfl's?
I started out with 2 - 3 bulb 4' strips but after reading decided the 150w cfl bulbs made a lot of sense. I know have the 4' on the sides and the 150w cfl above.

Yeah, thats all I have for now. I read your thread and think I will be taking a trip to Wal-Mart and Home Depot tomorrow to see what else I can rig up. I don't plan on vegging for much longer since my goal is to have something by Christmas.

Oh, I like the cost effective setup you have, I'm the same way. Made my grow room mostly from stuff I had around the house.

you can get the 1250 watt cfl's at Walmart for about $8. I think they are 2650K/ You pretty much have to go on the internet to get the 5000k or the 6250k.

leave the 5000 K and go for 6500 K, seems some areas theres no demand for them, where I live I can buy them in any place that sells light bulbs.

I see so many haggard plants on here. Of course because people are seeking help. It's good to know someone else out there is having first time success.

the 7 lsd are in 11litre pots and the other 3 are in 6.5 litre under a 600hps 125fan bringen good air in 150 geten bad air out an a desk fan just blown on them the hairs are popen out i just hope i get nice buds im useing canna coco soil and canna nutes any advice wud be great i bless meself every time i turn the lights on and open the tent 2grams for 50euro were i live complete arseholes it has me smoken crapy hash til i finsh these hopefully i get a decent bit weed of these and start another 1 every 8weeks sadly nuthen works out for me but fuck it tats life havnt been high in 1 month any ways tips wud be great thanks il update the pictuers everyweek

oh sorry i started them in root riot cubes 3 -4 weeks later and i put them into those big ones then flowerd them after 2weeks of 12/12 the hairs started popen out since last friday they been geten hairs this friday trere 1 week into flowering am i right
