First Time Grower!! Apartment Closet DWC!

So to make a long story short the dwc system got the best of me, and I wasn't able to even veg out my plants... I decided that I wouldn't give up though so I bought so coco coir and clone my best plants before I kill them because of the DWC system. For the past month and a half I 've been growing 2- G-13's and 3- Alien OG's. The alien og's I got from a friend and I have to say I don't like the phenotype of the clones and their genetics suck but other than that that's all I have to work with so fuck it! here are some new pics and from now on this journal is just about apartment grow no matter what kind of system. So to all those who dared to share their knowledge and style of apartment growing please comment hear and let's learn together..

Sorry to hear about the hydro run, the same damn thing happened to me when i tried my first dwc.
I said fuck it and switched to soil.
The girls are lookin fantastic and that screen is filled out real nice man
Are u running the 1000w? & im also doing a similar closet grow in a apt and plan on upgrading, that being said where do u vent ur hot air?

Thanks, and yeah I do run a 1000w... I vent the 1000 and all the hot air that rises from inline fan that hangs in an adjacent closet,(That other closet is for noise reduction and heat reduction... I keep the 1000w ballast inn that closet) lol I literally drilled holes big enough to put the exhaust and other things through check out my older post and you can see what I mean... Hot air was never my problem it was getting fresh air, thus I made a wind tunnel that sit right under my window!

Got u, i see how its vented now.
My closet is the same way but the other closet is being used. I do have a panel that leads to the piping of the tub(it leads to the structure of the building).

awesome... since we're in such a small place you have to think of different ways to get some kind of air exchange in there.... hey do you have a grow journal

Today is the first day of bloom! I'm so excited yet nervous at the same time... I want to know the capabilities of my apartment closet and how far I can push this little system, If I'm growing pounds out of this thing, then that's all I will need for life but if not I'm going to need something bigger. Right now I'm predicting that my big G-13 plant does something like 6-8 ounces, and my three alien OG's are going to do an ounce each, and my small G-13 is going to do 2 ounces. Secretly I'm hoping they do way more but from the looks of things this is what I will have by the end of my run... I've never bloom before in coco coir so this is all new to me! Here's what my veg journey looked like at the end of my first grow... after the dreaded DWC of course lol

So one of the thing I want to talk about today (WEEK 2 OF BLOOM!)s keeping as many items out of your grow closet as possible... If at all possible you want to have nothing but your lights, plants, and fans in your grow closet NO other machines. This help keeps temps down and noise down, plus it gives you way more space to grow more buds. I'm now using GH 3-part series instead of the Lucas formula nor the H3ad formula, because growth is very slow with these formula. After I changed to the 3-part series I've notice way more vigor and health in all my plants. Well my first week of bloom is over and I was really hoping for way more growth but it didn't happen, fuck it though because this is the first day of week number two and I'm excited to even be able to grow! I'm a visual learner so I think its very important to show pics or videos everything because I grasp more that way, and I hope you do too...

Did you switch to 3-part when you switched to flower? 'cause first two weeks of flower are known to be pretty explosive growth. Just sayin', maybe it's not the 3-part nutes doing that.

Naw, I switch to 3-parts on 7/7/13 or the day after. I started blooming on 7/16/13 now keep in mind that my fucking apartment people came in my house to "change the air filters" on Friday so the light situation got off set for about a day, and I decided to go from 12/12 during the day to 12/12 during night. From 10pm to 10 am, but now we're back on track! I just feed my plants last night 2-2-2 of transitional 3 part series. Because I've never used the Lucas nor the H3ad formula during bloom I can't tell how the growth is when the plants change, but during VEG exclusively 3 parts out does both those formula's... It seems the plants are missing something and the high ppm's or burning the root zone even if its not burning the leaves of the plants. I think a lot of my mag deficiencies were cause not because I didn't have enough mag but because my root zone was to sick to soak up enough mag, hence the purple leave stems. so I deicidedto go 3 parts with super low pmm's during veg so the root zone can become more established before going hard on the nutes.

So I ran into a few problems this week of bloom... First of all one of my timers died on me, so my lights stay on all day while I was at work. Then, I made a newbie mistake today and broke one of the main cola's on my big g-13. With all that though my girl's are trucking along. So I believe this is the beginning of week three for my bitches and I want to have a perfect week if possible but I have to be on my shit and not mess with my plants so much... I feed my plants every three days now so it's almost like I'm growing in soil. Other than that I have to say that this veg run and this bloom run is teaching me a lot about growing and I hope to get better as the time passes, here's some fresh pic's...
