First time grow with CFL's

This is my first indoor grow. I choose to go with cfl's and soil. There are 12 plants total they all are bagseed. I was told some of them were master kush I dunno see what happens. 4 big plants are about 4 weeks old. The other 8 are are 2 weeks. I have topped one of them, fimmed 1 I believe, Attempting LST on 1, and leaving one to do what it wants. the other 8 im just going to see what happens. I am using a power bar with some Y sockets and plug in sockets, a couple old lamps and yea it works for now.

Shultz Veg plant food
7- CFL's Various Wattage and Color Spectrums Equivlant apporx. 600watts from 180watt's

This is what I have to work with when I get the money for a HPS, MH, HID light with all the other accessories I will. So to all of you that are going to say so beat it. Any other input would be appreciated. my space is limited so I gutted a dresser and set it up. I will keep updating every week with new pic's. I plan on changing the light schedule to 12/12 withing the next 2 weeks. I have been thinking about adding a 70 or 100 watt hps from the local hardwarestore its fairly cheap. I will eventually order online does anyone have anything good to say about htg supply? They have some lights on special right now 150 watt, 250 watt and 400 watt all ranging from $70 - $250....

anybody check these threads out.... i wouldnt mind some input on things

Here are some more pics found a male in the bunch so i scooped his ass outta there dont need him messin things up....i decided within the next week or so i am going to flip the switch from 10am-10pm ge thigns rollin so i dont ahve to pay for some medicine.... anyways looking forward to some input on what has worked and what hasnt...my plant i lst'd has about 8 tops starting to show i am stoked...the one i topped has about the same too so im excited anyways....more pics next week

Right on dude! Looking good. Getting crowded...haha, good thing you're getting ready to switch some to flowering. 12 plants is a lot...lol...it might take a shitload of CFL's to flower those...or at least a lot of wattage. I sorta want to be in the same boat as you, seeing as i just finished a DIY tent and now have more room thanI know that to do with. What do you think abbout vegging for 8 weeks? If I could pull that off, I might be able to comfortably pull a harvest every month? 4-6 plants per area? So if I start 2 plants, let them grow for 4 weeks, start 2 more plants...let them grow for another 4 weeks and move the original 8 week old plants into flower, and start new seeds. Once the seeds are 4 weeks old, the second set of seedlings are ready to go into flower with the ones that have already been flowering for 4 weeks. Then hopefully 4 weeks down the line when the next set of vegging plants are ready to start flowering, I'll pull a harvest on the original 16 week old plants? As long as I keep taking clones every 4 weeks, thats what my perpetual harvest wil look like. Thats what I might do, seeing as I have the space. If I was gonna run as many plants as you are at once, I would definately stagger. I don't know...I can probably veg 4 plants at once easily...but 6 and we're pushing my CFL limit...lol...I don't want to run as many watts as it would take for an actual HID setup, you know? Anyway, shit looks good. Keep your thumbs green!

i dont hate , but flowering under crap lights is not saving money its wasting time and effort .......did you ever think ""why didnt somebody tell me ?"" you know it !!

hey yo META thanks man much appreciated im planning on doing the same things with this dresser im going to use is soely as a veg box once my light i plan on ordering arrives...this is what i have to work with bloomfields its all goood thanks for the input but i kow i can grow good medicine under cfl's im planning on upgrading to an hps there are great deals from htgsupply right now...so i plan on hitting it up when my funds are available..
and META i plan on ordering some seeds probly from attitude great references of the place... and im going to do the same thign rund 2-3 plants at a time with constant clones with a veg and flower box...thanks

i would def like to have a 10 by 10 room with a couple 1000watters with advanced nutes and blah blah blah but these is my budget love it or hate it hahah im still smokin and thats whats up

Man who the hell made you God's gift to weed growing maybe you should read a lot more around here and see some of the outstanding grow here at RIU with CFL's check some of mine out if you will with the right set up cfl's can do just as well as hps notice i did'nt say better but just asa well and it do'es cost less but the quality of my bud has not waivered one bit solid buds and dank. may get a lil better yield from an hps but thats about it, the difference is not such that anybody should diss someone's grow for the sake of pumping up HPS or MH..Peace Go to CFL club and see for yourself..matter of fact compare yours to theres...

yea im plannin on adding another 3 to 4 23-40watt cfl's soon...i noticed at my local hardware store they sell 70 and 100 watt hps with ballasts would that be a good addition for my dresser than i could use more of the cfl's for side lighting

Currently I am a First Time CFL Grower, with LEDs thrown in for good measure. If this grow is decent I will do like Dirtycurty420 and upgrade my lights to at least one 400 watt MH/HPS to see the difference. Once I am comfortable growing I plan to build a 12' x 4' (9' high) divided in half (6' x 4'), one side for germing/seeding/vegging and the other side for flowering grow area.

Yea that would be cool but just remember that cfl's do put out some heat as well so be prepared for a change once you get to around 300 watts or so..

yea i have a couple of comp fans that i am going to add to it for the venting...right now i just have my window open for cool fresh air and a fan running on medium with my house temp on my dresser stay between 72-79 so im not worried right now...thanks for the reminder tho any input is good....i seen this one dude on here go to the hardware store spend about 20 dollars on pvc piping made his won tent so i plan on trying that out.... i have soo many ideas in this dome...i just want to use cfl's for my first few grows....but im liking the fact that you can get clips and clip the lights to the bucks for good undering lighting too

my friend , flowering with cfl's is a waste of space, you may save leccy but your yield suffers , its not my opinion its science !! forums are for opinions...you have mine ....peace!!

either way some ppl can afford it and some ppl cant when it comes down to it your still smoking quality mediince in the end

I found this out real fast! I have a small and a medium fan in my 24"x24"x30" grow area. My grow is in a bathroom closet and I currently have the height (approx 8 feet) blocked off to about 30" for my three plants. It gets so hot, even with the fans on that I leave the door open for several hours when the lights are on. I have them 2-6 inches from my girls and they haven't burned any of their leaves, but it still gets warm in there with the CFLs. (9) CFLs = (1) 14 watt white, (6) 27 watt - 4 white and 2 warm, (2) 42 watt warm, for a total of 260 watts of CFLs

yea it stays between 70 and 80 i have my window half open so its contstantly getting fresh air from outisde im happy with my results but i have to add the exhaust fans soon
